| City identity refers to the process by which people attribute themselves to the city for selfdescription based on their interaction with the city.According to Relational Model of Justice,respect and positive interpersonal treatment from group members,ie.,interpersonal justice,helps individuals to form a positive self-concept and shape collective self,which accordingly hence group identity.Although city identity has received increasing attention by researchers,no research has directly focused on the impact and working mechanism of interpersonal justice on city identity.In addition,this study also pays attention to the multifoci justice,aiming to regard government as a source of justice and regard neighborhood as a source of justice,and explores the mediating effect of sense of belonging and status in the dual-path model,to explore the two different effects on the city identity for new citizens.It is of great significance to research on city identity.On the one hand,this research carried out exploring on city identity from a new perspective,“person-to-person” interaction perspective,which focused on the dynamic formation process of city identity,and enriched the research content of city identity.By the way,this research broke through the limitation of the previous field that interpersonal justice research only focused on one certain source,and then the paths of government authority interpersonal justice and neighborhood interpersonal justice on city identity for new citizens were explored.On the other hand,city identity can bring positive results.It is an important factor for new citizens’ city adaptation and integration.Exploring on city identity is conducive to provide positive suggestions for promoting social governance of cities.This research explored the formation of city identity in two steps.Study 1 tested the influence of government authority interpersonal justice and neighborhood interpersonal justice on city identity,choosing 236 subjects to participate in a scenario experiments;Study 2 focused on the dual-path process of multifoci interpersonal justice on city identity,adopting longitudinal study,193 subjects were measured on 3 times.The results indicated that:(1)The government authority interpersonal justice had a positive effect on city identity,i.e.,the higher the government authority’s interpersonal justice,the stronger the city identity for new citizens.(2)The neighborhood interpersonal justice had a positive effect on city identity,i.e.,the higher the neighborhood interpersonal justice,the stronger the city identity of the new citizens.(3)Government authority interpersonal justice exerted effects on city identity indirectly through the sense of belonging and status,and there was chain mediating effect of the sense of belonging and status.(4)The indirect effects of neighborhood interpersonal justice on the city identity through the sense of belonging and status had not been verified.The results were discussed.The path of government authority interpersonal justice affecting city identity has been discussed according the Relational Model of Justice and Social Identity Theory.At the same time,three reasons,including the barriers of social mobility,the high influence of group authority and the current city neighborhoods,were raised to explain why the path of neighborhood interpersonal justice affecting city identity has not been verified.The shortcomings of this research and future research prospects has also been summarized. |
