As the only newly-born and relatively developed country in Southeast Asia,Singapore regards education as the cornerstone of the country's various undertakings, especially the basic education level, which is one of the most important levels in Singapore's education system. With the continuous development of economic, social and cultural undertakings,Singapore's basic education reform goal has gradually shifted to focus on cultivating core literacy.Under this educational background, outdoor education,as an important field in the physical education of primary and secondary schools, has become more and more prominent in the education reform and development of primary and secondary schools in Singapore.Outdoor education takes "outdoor" as another classroom of teaching, which can better supplement the shortcomings of the school's subject curriculum, and help cultivate Singapore students' core qualities such as social and emotional management skills, perseverance and unyielding,so that their students are equipped to cope with future challenges Ability. At the same time,Singapore's Ministry of Education has gradually increased its requirements for the quality of outdoor educational activities provided by primary and secondary schools. Therefore, systematically exploring the theories and practical experience of outdoor education in Singapore's primary and secondary schools can provide some reference and enlightenment for the development and implementation of courses such as experiential education, environmental education and physical education in our country. This research is mainly composed of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion.First of all,the introduction explains the reasons for the topic selection, the concept of outdoor education in Singapore, the theoretical and practical significance of the research, the objectives and content of the research, and the research methods. It also combs the domestic and foreign related research on outdoor education in primary and secondary schools in Singapore.Secondly, the main body is divided into four parts. The first parts is the historical evolution and current situation of outdoor education policies in Singapore's primary and secondary schools. From the perspective of historical development, this part dynamically expounds the development and changes of outdoor education policies in Singapore's primary and secondary schools in three different periods, namely the military training period, the outdoor leisure period, and the outdoor education period. It also summarizes the main characteristics of Singapore's primary and secondary outdoor education policies in different periods. The second part is about the goals and content of outdoor education in primary and secondary schools in Singapore.Based on the latest curriculum standards and textbooks issued by the Ministry of Education of Singapore, this part clarifies the three major goals of outdoor education in Singapore's primary and secondary schools: cultivating students to lead an active and healthy life, improving students' social and emotional management skills, and the quality of resilence, tenacity, social cohesion, and elaborated on the content of outdoor education in Singapore's primary and secondary schools. The third part is about the implementation ways and methods of outdoor education in primary and secondary schools in Singapore.Based on the different types of curriculum in Singapore's primary and secondary schools, this part elaborates on the various implementation approaches of outdoor education in primary and secondary schools, mainly implemented in three types of courses: subject courses, activity courses and school-based project activity courses. The implementation process of outdoor education in Singapore's primary and secondary schools is slightly different, but generally it is to determine the theme and content, set implementation goals, select teaching methods and strategies, adopt teaching models, and determine the method of curriculum evaluation. In terms of teaching methods, schools generally choose experience-based teaching methods,inquiry-based teaching methods, and field-based teaching methods.A small number of schools also advocate a place-based approach.Due to the differences in the implementation of outdoor education in different schools, this paper chooses different primary and secondary schools as cases to illustrate the implementation of outdoor education in different ways. The fourth part is about the implementation effects and existing problems of outdoor education in primary and secondary schools in Singapore. From the perspective of school practice, the implementation of outdoor education in primary and secondary schools in Singapore has achieved certain results. For example, students' interest and enthusiasm in learning have increased, students' self-confidence and interpersonal skills have been improved, and students' life skills have been exercised. At the same time, there are also certain problems in the implementation of outdoor education in primary and secondary schools in Singapore, such as how to ensure the safety of the implementation of outdoor education, increase the burden on students and teachers, and ignore outdoor environmental education. The conclusion part is a summary of outdoor education in primary and secondary schools in Singapore.Research believes that Singapore's strengthening of non-academic courses such as outdoor education in primary and secondary schools is to change the educational philosophy that only values student achievement in the past, and to shift towards an education centered on cultivating students' core literacy.Taking "outdoor" as another classroom, supplements the current deficiencies in school education.
