In the field of education,self-efficacy is one of the core concepts of motivation theory in non-intellectual factors.It is not only an important part of students’learning process and development,but also a way to increase their interest,enhance their emotions,and build their self-confidence in mathematics.With the advent of the information age,the mathematical problems faced by students have become more diverse and life-oriented.Researchers have even encouraged students to enhance their successful experience in the process of solving problems in real life and accumulate real experience in building mathematical confidence.In actual teaching,each student’s mathematics self-efficacy and actual problem-solving ability are different.Therefore,the relationship between students’mathematics self-efficacy and mathematical problem-solving level is worthy of further exploration.This research takes 118 eighth-grade students from a middle school in Yantai City as the research object,combines existing questionnaires to compile suitable tools for this research,and adjusts the tools based on the results obtained in the preliminary test stage,So,the tool will be used in the final The testing phase.The results mainly answer the following questions:What is the overall level of junior high school students’mathematics self-efficacy and equation problem-solving ability?What is the consistency between the two?What is the relationship between the two?Can these two affect the improvement of students’math problem-solving ability?If they can,what extent do they affect?Combining the survey results and the interview analysis of the individual cases,the following results are obtained:(1)The students’mathematics self-efficacy is generally at the upper-middle level,and the level of solving equation problems is basically between the passing level and the excellent level,and the level of difficulty is different.There is a significant difference in the level of mathematical self-efficacy between the two,and there is no significant difference in mathematics self-efficacy between the interaction levels of gender and difficulty.(2)The overall performance of mathematics self-efficacy calibration is slightly overestimated.On simple questions,students tend to slightly underestimate their ability to solve equation problems,and generally overestimate those middle and partial problems.(3)Mathematics self-efficacy and its deviation will affect the level of equation problem solving ability.The mathematics self-efficacy will have a significant positive impact on the total score of the equation,and the efficiency deviation will have a significant negative impact on the total score of the equation.The regression equation Y=0.364X1-0.622X2,where X1 and X2 represent the mathematical self.Efficacy and mathematical self-efficacy deviation,Y stands for equation problem-solving ability.Finally,teaching suggestions and strategies are put forward based on the research results,and the application process is presented in the form of teaching design.
