A Case Study On The Improvement Of Parenting Self-efficacy Of School Age Children's Parents

Parental work is complicated and has huge responsibilities.If parents suffer setbacks in performing their parental duties,they will easily lose confidence in their personal abilities,leading to low parental self-efficacy.Parental self-efficacy refers to the confidence level and ability judgment of parents to judge whether they can solve problems in educating their children and promote their children's development in the process of assuming their parental responsibilities and playing the role of parents.Parental self-efficacy will have a direct impact on parents' emotional state and parenting style.Similarly,it will has an indirect impact on children's behavior.This study divides parental self-efficacy into three dimensions: First,the sense of self-efficacy in children's academic guidance,it can be understood as promote self-efficacy in children's academic achievement.Second,the sense of self-efficacy in parent-child emotional,it can be understood as the sense of self-efficacy in giving children emotional support,establish close and harmonious parent-child relationship.Third,the sense of self-efficacy in parenting style and behavior,it can be understood as the sense of self-efficacy in adopting appropriate parenting style,using positive parenting behavior to educate children.The researcher entered a social work institution to practice,a service object took the initiative to seek help from researchers.Through further contact with the help-seekers and assessment questions,researcher decide to take over the case.This study use task-centered model intervene in the case,in the three dimensions of academic counseling,parent-child emotion and parenting behavior and style,arrangement task for client,to help the client improve the parental self-efficacy.The promotion strategy of parental self-efficacy is: carry out parental education to improve parents' parental ability.Increase parent-child interaction experience and establish intimate parent-child relationship.Cultivate parents' self-regulation ability and self-confidence.
