The Application Of Play Therapy In The Elderly With Mild Cognitive Impairment

As a kind of therapy,play therapy is more used in the field of psychotherapy and less in the field of social work.Its applicability to the population of children,but now also gradually extended to the elderly people.This study is an exploration and attempt of play therapy in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment,which will combine play therapy with social work to provide professional and individualized services for the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in the group work.Firstly,to explore the effect of play therapy on cognitive function of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment;Secondly,to explore the effect of play therapy on the emotions of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment;Thirdly,to explore the subjective feelings of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment towards the end of the play therapy group work.In this study,7 eligible elderly people were selected to conduct ten group activities with focusing on visual perception,hand-eye coordination and short-term memory training,to help the elderly exercise their brains and relax their bodies and minds.After the end of the group,the scores of MES and GDS-15 showed that the cognitive function and emotion of the group members were improved in different degrees,which indicated that the play therapy group had certain effect and had different positive influence on the mild cognitive impairment,and improve the quality of life and happiness of the elderly.
