With the gradual popularization of Chinese language education globally,the people who learn Chinese have come to show a trend of younger age,and an increased number of middle and primary school students abroad have joined Chinese learning.Nevertheless,in light of the characteristics of primary school students’ curiosity and active nature,Chinese teachers must find a teaching method suitable for them.Only in this way can the enthusiasm of learners be maximized and the learning effect of Chinese learning can be promoted.In the course of the one-year teaching in the radio Confucius Classroom of Roots Millennium School(hereinafter referred to as R.M School)in Pakistan,the author of the paper found that most teachers still resort to traditional teaching methods,making the Chinese classroom for local primary school students dull and boring,decreasing the students’ interest in learning as well as taking a toll on the effectiveness of local students’ Chinese learning.Based on continuous observations,records and investigations and interviews,the author conducted targeted and interesting classroom teaching activities design from the elements of pronunciation,Chinese characters,vocabulary,grammar and others,and attempts to apply the interest teaching method to the comprehensive Chinese classroom of local primary school students.It’s hoped that the interest teaching method solves the problems encountered by local primary school students in the process of Chinese learning,and provides some valuable references for the specific practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The paper is divided into five chapters.The introduction part is the background and significance of this paper,the current research situation and research methods at home and abroad.The second chapter defines the interest teaching method,explains the application of the interest teaching method from both the theoretical and practical aspects and finally elaborates on some functions of the interest teaching method in the process of practice.The third chapter expounds on the status quo of Chinese teaching and students’ learning in Pakistan’s primary schools in detail,analyzes the problems existing in teachers’ teaching and students’ learning in R.M School,and draws the conclusion that it’s necessary to use the interest teaching method in the Chinese comprehensive courses for Pakistan’s primary school students.The fourth chapter analyzes the errors of the students’ Chinese learning from the aspects of pronunciation,Chinese characters,vocabulary,and grammar,designs targeted and interest teaching strategies in light of the reasons for the errors,and obtains the effectiveness of the interest teaching method based on the comparative analysis of students’ Chinese performance before and after the implementation of the interest teaching method in R.M School.The fifth chapter reflects and summarizes the teaching practice from the implementation of the interesting cases in the elementary Chinese comprehensive classroom,mainly summarizes the merits and demerits of the interest teaching practice,and supplements the points that need to be noted and improved in the interest teaching activities.
