As “Chinese fever” begun to heat up,more and more Thai people have started to learn Chinese.With the support from the cooperation of the two governments,Chinese has been introduced into Thai schools and universities.As of 2020,Thailand had the15 Confucius Institutes in the world.For the better development of the Chinese language industry,China has sent a large number of Chinese teachers to assist their classroom teaching.Since Chinese and Thai teachers have different educational and cultural backgrounds,their teaching language in class is bound to be different,which has a significant bearing on the students learning Chinese.This is why it meaningful to study the teaching language of Chinese and Thai Teachers in TCSL Class.This thesis takes five middle schools in northeast Thailand as examples and is guided by the theories of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.Through classroom observation,video analyzes,questionnaires,and post-class interviews,the thesis compares and analyzes the teaching language of Chinese and Thai teachers.It mainly explores their differences as well as the reasons behind and proposes suggestions on the use of teaching language of Chinese and Thai teachers.The thesis consists of seven parts.The chapter 1 is the introduction,which explains the background and significance of the thesis topic,the current status of domestic and international research,and the research contents and method,and Chapter 2 to Chapter4 focuse on a comparative study on the use of directive language,evaluative language and explanatory language of Thai and Chinese teachers.Chapter 5 explains the reasons for the differences in teaching language.Chapter 6 provides suggestions on the use of teaching language for Chinese and Thai teachers.Chapter 7 presents the conclusion by analyzing and summarizing the thesis,pointing out its shortcomings and suggesting future prospects.
