With the development of computer technology, sensor technology, and simulation technology, visualization technology has entered human life.Great advances in visualization technology have also brought new opportunities to the reform of physics experiment teaching.Elementary schools’ science textbooks have asked students to understand some basic physics knowledge, such as sound, force, energy and other concepts.Since these concepts are ‘invisible’in real life and very ‘mysterious’,how to make early school-age children understand these abstract concepts and regularities as much as possible is a worthy topic.Through the idea of visual teaching, those abstract, difficult to present, and unobvious physics experiment phenomena and experiment processes can be presented in the form of visual information, which is beneficial to improve the effect of physics experiment teaching. In the theoretical research part, the author took the physical visualization teaching of early school-age children as the entry point, concluding that the basic elements of knowledge visualization consist of four parts: data, visualization technology, knowledge integration, and interactive process.Among them, interactivity and controllability are two important factors affecting the quality of visualization curriculum and the effectiveness of the learner’s learning process.Natural Interaction(NUI)emphasizes interaction through multi-sensory channels such as sight, touch, and hearing, and has characteristics of natural interaction process, low learning cost, and rich sensory experience. These features have great advantages for children in learning abstract physics concepts. Therefore, this research integrates the concept of natural interaction into the physical visualization teaching of early school-age children.Through analyzing elementary science textbooks, the topic ‘friction’ is selected as the research carrier.A visual teaching system of friction called "Shifting Sponge" is designed and developed, and has been tested in the teaching process in reality. The research verifies the system from two perspectives, learning effect and experience satisfaction,to make sure that whether it can better reduce the cognitive load of primary school students to understand abstract concepts and mobilize the enthusiasm of learning science."Shifting Sponge" is a visual teaching system of friction combining software and hardware, which completes the signal input and output through the communication between arduino and Unity. The hardware is composed of different surfaces with different roughness and three cube modules, and the software system combines experimental operation with gamification.Users can learn the knowledge while playing, and the process of completing tasks is based on the Exploration – Discovery – Practice-Consolidation inquiry teaching philosophy.Different steps correspond to different teaching purposes, which in order to cultivate the scientific inquiring mind of early school-age children. Finally, the author summarized the methods of applying natural interaction into children’s physics visual teaching and pointed out the deficiencies of current research for subsequent improvement and exploration.
