In modern physical education teaching design,it is common to attach importance to students’ mastery of skills and despise students’ motivation.As an indispensable part of people’s all-round development,physical education plays a different role,which is an important part of cultivating important people needed by society.Volleyball teaching is common in school physical education,and it is also one of the selected items in the senior high school entrance examination.By designing the volleyball cushion course and analyzing its learning and application,we can improve students’ motivation in volleyball physical education class and provide some reference for teaching design of other sports.By using the methods of literature review,questionnaire survey and experiment,and relying on Professor Keller’s ARCS motivation design theory combined with volleyball cushion technology in sports,this paper explores the effectiveness and feasibility of ARCS motivation design mode in improving students’ interest,stimulating students’ motivation and improving students’ learning efficiency in junior high school volleyball cushion teaching.In this study,"the application of ARCS motivation design model in junior high school volleyball cushion teaching" is taken as the research object,and students from two administrative classes with similar physical fitness,ARCS four elements,volleyball cushion performance and sports learning motivation in the seventh grade of Shihezi No.16 Middle School are taken as the experimental objects.Class One of Grade Seven is the control class,and Class Four of Grade Seven is the experimental class.The experimental period is 8 weeks,with 16 classes in total.The emotional indicators are ARCS four elements and sports learning motivation.The experimental results show that:(1)in terms of physical quality,the results of standing long jump and three-way movement of boys and girls in the experimental class are better than those in the control class,and there is no significant difference between boys and girls in the two classes of 50-meter running;(2)In the four elements of 2)ARCS,there are significant differences in the scores of attention and satisfaction in the experimental class.The scores of self-confidence in the experimental class are higher than those in the control class,but there is no significant difference in the personal dimension between the two classes.(3)ARCS motivation design model can effectively improve students’ sports learning motivation;(4)Using ARCS motivation design mode to teach,the students’ performance of cushion ball is obviously higher than that of the control class.Finally,according to the whole experimental process and experimental results,the thinking of this study is put forward.
