Textbooks are important materials in classroom teaching,and it is also a tool to impart knowledge.The teacher imparts knowledge to the student through the textbook,and students construct their own knowledge system by learning the knowledge in textbooks.At present,there are a wide range of research perspectives on junior middle school mathematics teachers' textbooks in China,including the study about the content of textbooks,the comparative study between different editions of textbooks and the study about the use of relevant columns in textbooks,etc.However,there are relatively few researches on the level of teaching materials used by junior middle school mathematics teachers.Then how teachers use textbooks is directly related to the students' learning effect,and is also related to whether the teaching objectives required by "mathematics curriculum standard for compulsory education(2011 Edition)" can be achieved.In order to understand the current use level of middle school mathematics teachers' textbooks,this study selected 4 middle school mathematics teachers in X district of Suzhou City as the survey objects,to understand the overall situation of middle school mathematics teachers' use of textbooks,and on this basis,put forward several suggestions to improve the use level of middle school mathematics teachers' textbooks.This study uses a variety of research methods,such as questionnaire survey,classroom observation,interview and so on.In this study,the "Textbooks with horizontal model" constructed by Kong Fanzhe and Shi Ningzhong was selected to construct the analytical framework of this study.This paper investigates the use of teaching materials by mathematics teachers in 4 junior middle schools in "X" district of Suzhou.In order to analyze the overall situation of the use of textbooks by junior middle school,this study designed and compiled a questionnaire and an interview outline from four aspects and seven dimensions of mathematics teachers' use of textbooks.The results of questionnaire survey and interview show that most teachers agree with the value and function of textbooks.Teachers can get familiar with the content and structure of the textbook so that they are able to take students' cognitive level into full consideration when preparing lessons so as to adjust the content of the textbook appropriately in teaching.However,teachers'familiarity with the"curriculum standards"is generally not high.On the one hand,teachers'development and utilization of teaching material resources is not high,and on the other hand,teachers'use of teaching material lacks critical awareness.Finally,the author makes a summary of some problems in the use of textbooks and puts forward some suggestions for improvement.There are many suggestions for improvement.First,the teachers are supposed to get familiar with the"curriculum standards".Secondly,the teachers should read the textbook carefully.Then the teachers should complete high quality instructional design.Next teachers should flexibly use the materials in the textbook to give full play to the role of each column.Later the teachers should reflect on the effect of teaching materials.In addition,teachers should actively put forward suggestions on the improvement and revision of textbooks.
