In order to reach the requirement of new biology curriculum standard,teaching methods need to be constantly innovated.Problem teaching is a problem-based teaching method,which turns knowledge into problem easy to master,forming ability and developing psychological quality.Activity teaching method could improve students’ interest of study and overcome the disadvantages of traditional teaching with practice and activities.Unit teaching concentrates on "core concept",complete learning tasks by exploration and practice activities in whole unit part.All three actually are accordant,systematic,complementary to each other.Under the background of the educational reform,the author tries to organically integrate all the three ones to build a "problem and activity" unit teaching model and do the practical research work,hoping to provide some new teaching methods and experience for biology teachers.In this research,questionnaire survey method,the literature research method,and experimental research method are adopted.The contents of this research are as follows:1.The concept,development,characteristics,process and related theories of problem teaching,activity teaching and unit teaching were summarized to find out the connection.2.Investigates the teaching situation of high school biology in J High School(N City).The high school has good foundation for problem teaching,and is also doing activity teaching now.But the unit teaching is still in the initial stage,and there are many deficiencies in the existing teaching process.3.Based on the early investigation and preparation,this research combines problem teaching,activity teaching and unit teaching to form the "problem and activity" unit teaching model(the detail steps of carry out are as follows):(1)Create situations and show teaching goals(2)Ask questions and carry out student activities(3)Summarize the knowledge points and correct them(4)Consolidate the training and obtain the evaluation4.Using "the basic structure of the cell" as a new teaching unit part and "the internal environment and life activities" as a review teaching unit part,we did this research experiment: Firstly,chose two classes in senior 1 and another two classes in senior 3,the twoclasses in the same grade are similar in tests scores and students composition,one class is the reference group,the another one is the experience group.Secondly,select two experienced biology teachers to carry out the teaching experiment in senior 1 and 3 respectively,using traditional teaching model in the reference group and "problem and activity" unit teaching model in the experience group.Thirdly,we had a student test after a period of time(a month in senior 1 and two weeks in senior 3)and did the data analysis of the testscores to find the difference between the reference and experience group.We also observed the changes in the class during the teaching process,investigated the feelings and gained suggestions from teachers and students by questionnaire and interview.All in all,takinghorizontal and longitudinal comparison analysis of experience group and reference group,we draw the following conclusion:(1)The teaching model helps to improve students’ academic performance,and the improvement effect of the experience group is better than the reference group;(2)This teaching model is conducive to improving students’ ability to learn,solve problems and etc;(3)with tight time,great pressure and heavy task of high school biology teaching,the implementation of this teaching model is a great challenge for teachers and students.5.Based on the feedback of teachers and students after the experiment,we proposed the implementation strategy of the teaching model:(1)Set up a learning community Flexibly;(2)Improve internal motivation of students to learn and their independent learning ability;(3)Defines the role of teacher to manager and regulate the progress of project activities.In short,in this research,we attempted to construct a comprehensive teaching model integrating problems,activities and unit teaching and applied it in high school biology teaching,we also obtained the research results and conclusions in practice,hoping to providesome reference for high school biology teaching.
