The development of Internet technology has provided a new vehicle for disseminating traditional festival culture. The social interactivity and time-sensitive nature of games give more space for expression and imagination to the digital interaction of traditional festivals and give them a new connotation in the era.The Honor of Kings has explored integrating technology and traditional culture as a game rooted in Chinese culture. In 2020,the "Glory China Festival" campaign combined traditional festivals with games and innovated the dissemination of traditional festivals. The game builds up new customs of traditional festivals. It makes traditional festivals enter more people's daily lives and spread the cultural and social value of games. This article takes the "Glory China Festival" series of activities as a research object. The theoretical framework uses James Carey's theory of ritual view of communication.Firstly, clarify the ritual concept's theoretical connotation and practical terms through literature analysis. At the same time,it analyzes the factors that fit traditional festivals and Honor of Kings and the ritual characteristics they present.Secondly, from three aspects of festival symbols, festival scenes, and communication media,we specifically analyze the content construction of traditional festivals in "Honor of Kings" to explore its ritual construction process. Finally,it discusses the "Honor of Kings" on the cultural reproduction of traditional festivals.Digital technology and artistic co-creation promote the development of traditional culture within the game industry and expand the cultural attributes of games. It makes the game a "new contact point" for popularizing and transmitting Chinese traditional culture.
