Research On The Professional Construction Of Counselor Teams In Provincial Colleges And Universitie

In recent years,China’s higher education has developed rapidly,made good achievements and achievements in some aspects,and opened a new journey in higher education.In the new era,there are new situations and challenges,which make the team of college counselors face more new problems and challenges.It requires university counsellors to promote specialization.College Counselors’ work,as the backbone of college students management,is one of the key aspects in ideological and political education to college students.The counsellor is irreplaceable in college student’s ideological and political education,control of daily life,building good character,psychological health education,Career Planning,career guidance and so on.President Xi Jinping pointed that universities shoulders the heavy burden which is researching and disseminating Marxism and play a vital role in fostering builders and successors of Chinese characteristics at the 23 rd National Colleges conference of the construction of the Party in 2014.College counselors,as front-line workers of ideological and political education,should fully realize the value of counsellors’ functions in order to better serve students.Therefore,it is necessary for college to build a counselors’ team that is specialized and higher-level.This paper mainly research the problems and solutions of university counsellors’ professionalization and specialization construction,using interviews and questionnaire.It takes three provincial universities in Heilongjiang Province as an example.First of all,the paper summarizes the historical process and policy background of the professional construction of college counselors.Secondly,through the investigation of the specialization of the three university counselors,the survey results are presented from four aspects of college counselors’ professional commitment,professional ability,professional system construction and professional organization construction.On this basis,this paper analyzes the problems existing in the professional construction of counselors in provincial colleges and universities,and explains the causes of the problems.Finally,the paper puts forward the solution to the professional construction of provincial university counselors from the three levels of counselors themselves,universities,society and education administrative departments.This includes as follow:Counselors themselves should actively improve their professional quality;Provincial Colleges and universities should build a stronger and more perfect system on the professionalization of counselors;Social and educational administrative departments should provide support and guarantee for the university counselors’ professionalization and specialization construction.
