Along with the advancement of national information construction needs, people's interest in exploring the computer field is gradually rising, and a highly informative society is taking great strides forward.Computational thinking is increasingly valued by various industries in society and has become a necessary information literacy for new talents and a basic quality requirement for society in the new era.The society requires everyone to have computational thinking, and computational thinking is gradually expanding to the field of basic education as the most important place to cultivate talents. At present, scholars at home and abroad are limited to theoretical research but little practical research on computational thinking, mostly focusing on the discussion of the concept of computational thinking, evaluation and other aspects, making it difficult to implement computational thinking, the cultivation of computational thinking is still in the preliminary stage of exploration.APP Inventor,a block-based visual programming tool,is used to develop computational thinking in this teaching practice inquiry because it is open source, pervasive, able to create Android applications, and can be extended in breadth and depth. In order to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning in the junior high school IT classroom, promote the development of computational thinking skills and enhance the problem-solving abilities of secondary school students, the paper presents a practical study of teaching and learning in the secondary school IT classroom based on the APP Inventor visual programming environment. This study will focus on the IT curriculum, using APP Inventor as a way to design teaching models, teaching objectives, content, strategies, processes, activities and evaluation for the teaching curriculum design of computational thinking development of secondary school students, and through a quasi-experimental research method for its teaching research. This paper clarifies the background of the study from the current situation in the world and the current situation in China respectively, analyses the theoretical and practical significance of the study, points out the content and problems of the study according to the current situation and the research objectives, and composes the research ideas and methods in conjunction with the current situation of domestic and international research.Firstly, the definition of computational thinking and APP Inventor at home and abroad, the way of cultivating computational thinking, teaching methods and evaluation models and other related concepts are summarised using the literature review method.Secondly, the cognitive developmental stage theory, constructivist theory and project-based teaching theory were collated and the APP Inventor curriculum design based on secondary school students' IT classroom was developed based on these three theories and the analysis of the teaching model,in which questionnaires, interviews and observations were used to design the teaching evaluation model. Finally, the teaching practice was validated through a quasi-experimental research method.Analysis of the experimental data through SPSS2.0 series tools and Excel led to the conclusion that the teaching design programme was effective in improving the computational thinking of secondary school students as well as enhancing their interest in learning programming. The study has achieved the expected results and has also made a useful exploration for the future development of computational thinking among secondary school students.
