The Relationship Between Childhood Psychological Abuse And The Level Of Mindfulness And Pathological Internet Use In Junior High School Students

With the development of the Internet,the problem of the pathological Internet use among adolescents is becoming more and more prominent.Previous studies have shown that children's psychological maltreatment is closely related to pathological Internet use.The study of mindfulness has increased year by year,and the application of mindfulness training in various fields of medicine,psychology and education has been remarkable.A small number of studies in China have shown that the level of mindfulness is related to the use of pathological Internet.This study takes countryside junior high school students in Henan Province as the research object,using the Child Psychological Maltreatment Scale(CPMS),the Mindfulness Attention Awareness Scale and the Adolescent Pathological Internet Use Scale as measurement tools,using the questionnaire method to explore the psychological maltreatment,pathological Internet use,and the overall level of mindfulness in junior high school and the relationship among them,while exploring the mediating role of mindfulness.The research shows:1.The phenomenon of psychological maltreatment of junior high school students is generally widespread.There are significant differences in gender,parental education level and parental relationship.2.The pathological Internet use of junior high school students is widespread,and the proportion of“Internet addiction”is 20.96%.There are significant differences in parental relationships.3.There are significant differences in the level of mindfulness among junior high school students in parental relationships.4.There is a significant correlation between childhood psychological maltreatment,pathological Internet use,and the level of mindfulness in junior high school students.Childhood psychological maltreatment was significantly positively correlated with pathological Internet use.Psychological maltreatment and the level of mindfulness can predict the use of pathological Internet.5.Psychological maltreatment can directly predict the use of pathological Internet,and the mediating effect of mindfulness can affect the pathological Internet use of junior high school students.The study concluded that psychological maltreatment and mindfulness of junior high school students have an impact on pathological Internet use.The higher the psychological maltreatment,the lower the level of mindfulness and the more serious the pathological Internet use.The level of mindfulness plays a partial mediating role in childhood psychological maltreatment and pathological Internet use.Based on above research results,the study offers some related coping strategies and suggestions for parents and teachers.
