Emotional competence was an important aspect of social ability and an important factor affecting the socialization of children. The elementary school stage was the key stage for the development of individual emotional competence. However, there were few studies on the emotional competence of primary school students. There was also a lack of localization tools that can objectively and effectively measure the emotional competence of primary school students.Emotional competence was not only the individual's own emotional processing, but also reflected in interpersonal interaction.Cooperation and competition were the two main forms of interpersonal interaction and the strategies chosen by individuals in the face of interpersonal situations.Whether individuals with different emotional abilities can make adaptive decisions according to interpersonal interaction situations is unknown. Therefore,on the basis of summarizing the previous studies, this study took the second to sixth grade primary school students as the research object, used the situational judgment test paradigm to compile the "Primary Student Emotional Competence Test",and carried on the preliminary reliability and validity test.At the same time,it further explored the characteristics of pupils' emotional competence and its relationship with social decision-making in interpersonal interaction.Study 1 first proposed a three-dimensional model of primary school students' emotional competence based on previous studies and semi-structured questionnaires;then collected primary school students' emotional situational materials through interviews and other methods;applied situational judgments test paradigm prepared the "Primary Student Emotional Competence Test" and conducted the test.A total of 307 valid data samples were recovered, and formal questionnaires were obtained through project analysis and factor analysis.A total of 1181 valid questionnaires were collected and tested for reliability and validity. Finally, the development characteristics of pupils' emotional competence are explored by self-compiled "Primary Student Emotional Competence Test".Research findings:(1)The "Primary Student Emotional Competence Test" contained 30 questions, divided into three dimensions: emotional understanding, emotional expression, and emotional management.(2)The reliability of the self-compiled primary school students' emotional competence test was good, the test-retest reliability of the whole scale and each dimension was between 0.608-0.708,the split-half reliability was between 0.631-0.789,and the internal consistency reliability is between 0.574-0.789.(3)The construct validity of self-administered pupils' emotional ability test was good.Study 2 took 86 elementary school students as the research objects, and used a two-factor mixed experimental design of 2(high emotional competence, low emotional competence)× 2(cooperative situation, competitive situation)to investigate the emotional competence and interpersonal interaction situation on social decision-making in interpersonal interaction. The dependent variable was the prisoner's dilemma game score.Research findings:(1)In the cooperative situation, the scores of the prisoner's dilemma game in the high and low emotional competence group were significantly different, and the children with high emotional competence tended to cooperate more than the children with low emotional competence;(2)In the competitive situation, the difference between high and low emotional competence groups was not significant, both of them tend to choose competition.Research conclusions:(1)The emotional competence of primary school students includes three dimensions: emotional understanding, emotional expression and emotional management. The reliability and validity of the emotional competence test compiled by situational judgment test paradigm is good, which can be used as a reliable and effective tool to measure the emotional competence of primary school students.(2)Children with high emotional competence can make adaptive decisions based on the different situations of interpersonal interaction. When the other party chooses cooperation, they tend to choose cooperation.;when the other party chooses competition, they tend to choose competition;children with low emotional competence choose to compete whether the other party chooses cooperation or competition.
