The cultivation of top-notch and innovative talents is an important way to solve the "Qian Xuesen's question" and promote the overall development of Chinese education,politics,economy,culture,and society.The "Pilot Program for Cultivating Top-notch Students in Basic Disciplines”(Top-notch Program)is a crucial Chinese national strategy to cultivate top-notch and innovative talents in the field of basic sciences with an international perspective and first-class level.Academic interest is the orientation of academic talents who recognize the value of academic research and the value of the major they have studied,is full of interest in academic research and aspires to pursue an academic career.It is also the source of motivation for scholars to devote themselves to academics and ponder knowledge.Besides,academic interest is the significant foundation for the outputs of high-level innovative talents cultivation and academic results,and is also the basic goal of cultivating top-notch and innovative talents.Academic interest will directly affect the future career choices and life pursuits of the students in the "Top-notch Program" and will be related to whether the goal of cultivating top-notch talents in basic research can be achieved and the success or failure of the “Top-notch Program”.This dissertation explores the relationship between cultural capital and the academic interests of the "Top-notch Program" students with the research perspective of the theory of cultural capital and researches on three forms of cultural capital,respectively in embodied cultural capital,objectified cultural capital and Institutionalized cultural capital,in the family and school fields which are seen as the main influence fields on university students.Meanwhile,this dissertation discusses the mediating role of habituation and academic interest between cultural capital and the academic interest of "Top-notch Program" students by introducing the concept of the habituation and academic interest.Through empirical analysis and verification of the research hypothesis,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)Family cultural capital has a significant positive impact on the academic interests of the students of the “Top-notch Program”;(2)School cultural capital has a significant positive impact on the academic interests of the students of the “Top-notch Program” It has a significant positive impact;(3)Habitus plays an intermediary role in the relationship between cultural capital and academic interest;(4)Academic motivation plays a moderating role in the relationship between cultural capital and academic interest.Based on the research conclusions,this dissertation proposes that families and schools should pay attention to the role of cultural capital factors in promoting the academic interests of the “Top-notch Program” students and also focus on the cultivation and influence of personal habituation to stimulate the academic motivation of the “Top-notch Program” students.
