With the advent of a more information-based,digitalized and artificially intelligent society,it is becoming more and more important to develop students' key competencies in school education.Mathematics,as an important subject,it bears the important mission and valueto develop students' key competencies, and the capability of solving mathematical problem is one of the necessary skills for students to acquire in the 21 st century,as well as an important purpose and the essential methods to learn mathematics.Cultivating students' ability to solve mathematical problems is an important measure to develop students' mathematics literacy, and it is also an important goal for the development of mathematics curriculum in China. For a long time,in the field of mathematics education research circle home and abroad, the solution of mathematics problems has been the focus of international education organizations and relevant experts and scholars. The Eighth Basic Education Curriculum Reform since 2001 shows that "problem solving" has become the core of mathematics education in primary and secondary schools in China, and the cultivation of problem-solving strategies in the process of students' learning is particularly important.Through investigation and data analysis, the author finds that as for students, there are some exiting problems, such as poor ability to solve mathematical problems, and lack of problem awareness and innovation,in primary school students in China. In addition, there are still some problems as for teachers' teaching and guidance as well as their professional development.Although there have been many studies on "mathematics problem solving",it is still necessary to carry out action study oriented to the solution of practical problems by upholding the theory of "teachers and researchers" and dedicating to the grounded research. The current study has theoretical significance and practical significance as well, and it may serve as a reference to improve students' mathematical problem-solving capability, and may serve as a reference to enhance the ability of primary school students to solve mathematical problems. The current study follows the rule of theorical foundation and bases on the literature review of the relevant studies home and abroad. It first of all defines the core concept of the topic and utilizes the research methods such as literature research, questionnaire survey and interview to investigate the current status quo of the teaching of problem solving for the middle and senior grades of Yucai Primary School in Xinxiang City.Meanwhile,it analyzes the possible causes of the existing problems and puts forward the corresponding teaching strategies based on the interview data from teachers and students respectively. This study is divided into six parts. The specific research ideas and contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction. This part discusses the research background, research purpose and significance, the current situation of relevant research at home and abroad,as well as the theoretical basis,it defines the concept of mathematics problem solving and mathematical problem-solving ability of the middle and senior grades of primary schools, and introduces the research ideas and research methods. The second part is the investigation of the current status quo of mathematics problem solving for middle and senior grades in primary schools. It investigates the status quo of students problem-solving for the middle and senior grades of primary school students and the results show that most students have the interest in learning mathematics, and they also have a certain degree of ability to put forward, analyze and solve problems. But for some students, they still have confusion and problems about problem-solving,especially their capabilities of problem analysis and problem-solving skills are still needed to be improved. The third part is the analysis of the problem-solving ability for the middle and senior grade students in primary schools.Based on the analysis of the survey results and the author's teaching experience and summary,it is found that the middle and senior students have the following problems in problem-solving study,namely:(1)inadequate ability in reading comprehension of the problem;(2)insufficient analytical ability to answer questions,(3)weak strategy execution ability,and(4)weak ability in reviewing and reflecting problems. The fourth part concludes the reasons for the problem-solving capability in the middle and senior students of the primary school. In view of the specific problems in the current problem solving, the author analyzes the reason from the two dimensions, respectively, student learning and teacher teaching. The main reasons in the dimension of students learning include:(1)The better learning habits have not been developed yet(2)The knowledge base and conceptual understanding are not solid enough. The reasons for the dimension of teachers' teaching include:(1)The inadequate pre-class preparation and improper set of contexts,(2)The insufficient ability to organize classroom teaching and improper teaching methods,(3)The ignorance of the cultivation for students' good study habits and inadequate sense of responsibility. The fifth part puts forward some strategies and suggestions for the mathematics problem-solving ability training for middle and senior grades students in primary schools. In view of the problems and attribution for middle and senior grade students in primary school, and it combines the corresponding teaching theory with the teaching strategies for the middle and senior grades in primary schools. In terms of teachers,it is suggested that they should do well in the following aspects in problem-solving teaching:(1)analyze students learning ability and prepare in advance;(2)contact real life and create scenario;(3)create mathematical modeling and teach problem-solving strategies;(4)focus on process and conduct multi-evaluation;(5)guide students timely and train their learning habits. In terms of the students,it is suggested that teachers should guide students to pay attention to the following aspects in learning(1)accurately collect topic information and the use appropriate ways to present the problem;2)choose appropriate problem solution with the help of problem-solving strategy;(3)pay attention to review and reflection and build a mathematical model of problem solving. The sixth part is the conclusion and prospect of the current study. This study draws the following conclusions: In view as the four problems commonly presented in the process of solving mathematical problems in the middle and senior grades,it is namely as lack of reading comprehension ability, insufficient capability to analyze and answer questions, weak capability to execute strategies, weak capability of reviewing and reflection, and training of mathematical problem solving ability of senior students in primary and secondary schools. It is needed to pay attention to the cultivation of students' good study habits, and strengthen students' knowledge base and conceptual understanding.Teachers should pay efforts to careful preparation of lessons, cleverly create teaching contexts, teaching according to students' actualities, pay attention to teaching methods, improve classroom teaching ability, enhance the sense of responsibility, pay attention to the cultivation and development of students' learning habits, guide students to explore problem-solving strategies, and flexibly use problem-solving methods. The weak points of this study may as follows: the investigation sample is too small, the popularity of the conclusion and the validity of the study need to be further verified and improved, the classification of mathematical problem-solving capability are needed to be further improved, the problems and problems attribution in the process of problem solving for the middle and senior grade students in primary schools and the corresponding teaching strategies are needed to be further explored.
