Sequence is a kind of special function,which is an important research object in mathematics and a basic tool to study other kinds of functions.Learning sequence can develop students' quality of mathematical abstraction,mathematical operation and logical reasoning.The knowledge points and formula operations in the sequence part are relatively simple and comprehensive,and involve more mathematical ideas and methods,so some students cannot flexibly apply knowledge to solve problems.The fundamental reason is that students do not understand and master the essential attributes of part of the knowledge of sequence,so it is difficult to draw inferences by analogy.Variable teaching changes problems or concepts from different aspects through conceptual or procedural changes,so that students can experience the occurrence and development of knowledge in class and grasp the essential attributes of mathematical knowledge.Variable teaching can guide students to discover the unchanging essence from changes,deepen their understanding of knowledge,develop their core qualities,and meet the requirements of curriculum reform.Therefore,it is meaningful to apply variable teaching in the teaching of sequence units.This paper adopts literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and case analysis method.To understand the research status of variant theory at home and abroad by literature analysis;Through the questionnaire survey and interview of my school,I understand the current situation of the teaching and learning of sequence and the knowledge and use of variable teaching of senior high school teachers,and put forward teaching suggestions;Finally,through case analysis,teaching design is carried out based on variable theory and suggestions.The survey and interview results show that the following problems exist in the students:(1)a small number of students have weak basic knowledge of sequence and lack of confidence;(2)Most students do not understand the nature of the concept of sequence;(3)Students lack the ability to solve problems;(4)Most students do not have the habit of self-transformation.Teachers have the following problems:(1)the level of teachers' variant theory needs to be improved;(2)A small number of teachers do not pay enough attention to variant teaching,and only some teachers use non-conceptual variant to help students understand concepts;(3)The teachers' penetration of ideological methods is not deep enough,and students cannot flexibly use the knowledge of sequence to solve problems;(4)Most teachers do not use variant teaching properly.According to the above survey and interview results,the following teaching suggestions are put forward :(1)improve students' participation in class and cultivate students' consciousness of independent transformation;(2)Strengthen the study of relevant theories and improve the scientificity and rationality of variations;(3)The system integrates knowledge to realize the variation of unit structure;(4)Dig into teaching materials and select variable materials.Combined with the above teaching suggestions and variant theory,and under the guidance of "Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools(2017 Edition,2020 Revision)",the teaching research on sequence units is carried out.
