The development of science and technology leads people in entering the information age.Therefore,the requirement of people's image representation ability is improved.In2018,the Ministry of Education issued The Chemistry Curriculum Standard for General Senior High School(2017 Edition),which proposed the core literacy of chemistry subject,embodied the educational value of chemistry subject and put forward new requirements for the ability of senior high school students.The Chemistry Curriculum Standard for General Senior High School(2017 Edition)has repeatedly mentioned the words such as "chart","diagram" and so on.Chart and diagram can objectively and accurately reflect the nature and quantity relationship of substances,and also express chemical concepts and laws in a concise and efficient way.They can deepen students' understanding of chemical knowledge as well.Therefore,in the way of learning chemistry,the ability of chemical image representation is one of the essential abilities of high school students.Firstly,this study need to summarize the related literature at home and abroad.Second,based on the classification of chemical images,the content of chemistry teaching in senior high school,and the requirements of the core literacy of chemistry subject,this study need to determine the research framework of high school students' chemical image representation ability level.Next,the questionnaire was compiled and the first test was conducted.The survey results were analyzed based on Rasch model.Test again after determining the final questionnaire.Then,the present situation of chemical image representation ability of senior high school students is investigated and analyzed,and the influence of grade and school factors on chemical image representation ability is also simply analyzed.The results are as follows:(1)The ability level of the sample students is relatively concentrated,roughly normal distribution,and most of the students' chemical image representation ability is at level two;(2)Students do not master the following content well: innovative experimental device diagram,qualitative and quantitative data curve diagram,process flow diagram,understanding diagram involving chemical essence principle and material transformation diagram;(3)The ability of chemical image representation of provincial key students is at Level 3,and that of municipal key senior high school students is at Level 2.The ability level gap of provincial key students is smaller than that of municipal key students;(4)The ability of chemical image representation of grade 2 students are in level 2.The ability of chemical image representation of grade 3 students are in level 3.As the grade increases,the ability level of chemical image representation is improved.At the same time,the ability level gap between grade 3 students is reduced,and the ability level of students is more concentrated.Finally,some suggestions are put forward for teachers' daily chemistry teaching :(1)Pay attention to the selection of image representation;(2)Choose images of static and static combination to enrich the content and form of chemical images;(3)Guide students to observe images and improve their reading ability;(4)Combine theory with practice to improve students' ability to interpret images;(5)Broaden students' thinking and exercise their ability of drawing images;(6)Train students' mathematical calculation ability.
