In order to further improve the quality of basic education,deepen the requirements of the new curriculum reform and fully implement the party's education policy,the Ministry of Education officially promulgated “the geography curriculum standard for senior high schools(2017 Edition)” in 2018.The curriculum standard requires that on the basis of inheriting the advantages of traditional teaching methods,innovate teaching modes and teaching ideas,and advocate the use of problem-based teaching,situational teaching and other teaching methods,Cultivate students' core literacy of geography.Experiential learning is a learner centered learning method that reflects in practice and obtains knowledge,ability and emotion.Experiential learning emphasizes the dominant position of students and pays attention to the real experience of students,which meets the training requirements for the core literacy of Geography in the curriculum standard.This study is based on American David Kolb on the discovery of learning theory,constructivism theory,zone of proximal development theory and embodied cognitive theory,Professor Kolb's experiential learning circle model combs the related concepts of experiential learning and experiential learning circle by using the method of literature research;Through the way of questionnaire survey,grasp the application status of experiential learning in senior high school geography teaching,and analyze the problems existing in the application of experiential learning;Based on the basic characteristics of experiential learning circle model,this paper puts forward the design principles of experiential learning circle model in senior high school geography teaching,and expounds the application strategies of experiential learning circle model;Finally,during the educational practice,taking the two groups of students in the experimental group and the control group as the research object,taking the compulsory one of senior high school geography of Hunan Education Edition as the teaching content,and taking whether the experiential learning circle model is conducive to stimulating students' interest in geography learning,improving students' geography learning ability and cultivating the core literacy of geography as the research question,we use the action research method and experimental research method to carry out geography teaching practice,Collect the students' geography learning achievement and questionnaire data before and after the experiment,and use the social statistics software SPSS25.0 to analyze and draw a conclusion.Through the combination of experiential learning circle model and high school geography teaching,this paper aims to provide reference for geography teachers to apply experiential learning circle model in teaching.
