Promoting the formation of students' core literacy has become the main theme of the current education curriculum reform.Scientific thinking is one of the core literacy in the biology curriculum standards of ordinary high schools,which aims to cultivate students' ability to understand things and solve practical problems with scientific thinking.Unit instructional design is a kind of middle level instructional design between curriculum planning and instructional design.This study will combine the two organically to test whether the application of unit teaching method is conducive to the cultivation of students' scientific thinking.Firstly,relevant concepts at home and abroad are analyzed through literature research.Combined with the characteristics of biology,the unit teaching process based on important concepts is designed.Secondly,action research was carried out according to the unit teaching process,in which the experimental group adopted the unit teaching method and the control group adopted the traditional teaching method.After each round of action research,unit synchronous homework was assigned to detect the learning effect and reflect on the teaching process.Finally,after three rounds of action research,questionnaires and final scores were used to detect the changes in students' scientific thinking before and after the unit teaching method was adopted.The study drew the following conclusions:First,after three rounds of action research,through unit synchronous homework,final exam and questionnaire,the analysis shows that: compared with the control group of traditional teaching,the improvement degree of scientific thinking of students in the experimental group applying unit teaching method is more significant.Secondly,the unit teaching process designed in this study based on the "ADDIE model" and referring to the Guide to Secondary Life Science Unit Teaching can promote the development of students' scientific thinking.The process includes: determining the unit theme,analyzing the teaching method of the unit textbook,designing the teaching objectives of the unit,designing the "situation-task-activity",designing the class hours,and designing the unit synchronous work.Thirdly,through the questionnaire analysis of scientific thinking,it can be seen that unit teaching method is more conducive to cultivating the profundity and flexibility of students' scientific thinking than traditional teaching method.Because the unit teaching method focuses on the integrity and systematicness of knowledge,it carries out activities around the main line of the unit in the real situation,connects knowledge with each other,promotes students to draw lessons from one example,completes knowledge transfer,and cultivates students' flexibility.Unit teaching method focuses on solving real problems in real situations,and encourages students to understand the nature of knowledge in the process of problem solving,which is conducive to the cultivation of profundity.To sum up,unit teaching method can better improve students' scientific thinking,and focus on the improvement of profundity and flexibility in scientific thinking.
