This study purpose is analyzing the presentation of the scientific essence content in the compulsory textbook of high school biology,and purposes to help front-line biology teachers to use the scientific essence content resources in the textbook to teach the scientific essence.The methods that this investigation possessed included the literature research method,the questionnaire inquiry method,the action research method and text analysis method.The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)First of all,the rate of scientific essence content show.The scientific research dimension is presented more frequently in compulsory textbooks than the scientific knowledge dimension and the scientific career dimension.Among them,the number of developmental and explanatory presentations of the scientific knowledge dimension is much higher than that of limitations and tests.The empirical nature of scientific research dimensions,the diversity of scientific methods,cooperation and communication,logic and other characteristic elements are presented more frequently than other characteristic factors.The elements of science and technology society in the dimension of scientific undertakings are presented far more often than ethics and morality.Second,in terms of the way in which the content of the essence of science is presented.Whether in the Compulsory 1 textbook or the Compulsory 2 textbook,the characteristic elements of the essence of science are presented in an explicit rational way.Among them,the four essential characteristics of science,such as testability,creativity,logic and interpretation,are mainly presented in a tacit rational way.Last but not least,the position of the content presentation of the nature of science.The main text of the textbook carries a large number of essential elements of science with the knowledge of biological disciplines as the carrier,involving the all factors of the three factors of scientific essence.However,the two characteristic elements of ethics and morality,science and society and technology are concentrated in the Science-Technology-Society column and the Biotechnology Progress column.(2)the explicit teaching method of scientific essence can significantly improve students' understanding of the developmentality,empirical,non-absolute objectivity,diversity of scientific methods and scientific and technological society among the essential characteristics of science.
