The Relationship Between Parental Mobile Phone Snubbing Behavior And Problematic Smartphone Use Among Middle School Students

Nowadays,there are more and more groups using smart phones,and the younger age of smart phone users is becoming more and more obvious.However,excessive use often leads to individual dysfunction.In various social interactions,the phenomenon of focusing on using smart phones and ignoring others is also increasing.At present,most middle school students are teenagers born after2005.They are a generation growing up with the development of multimedia and are in the puberty stage.The development of all abilities will inevitably be affected by smart phones.Before entering the university campus,they get along with their parents day and night,and many places will be affected by their parents.Therefore,it is necessary to study the influencing factors of middle school students' problematic smartphone use and the influence of their parents.The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Parents' phubbing and problematic smartphone use in middle school students,and explore the mediating role of peer relationship and negative emotions between them.In this study,middle school students from different schools were selected as the research object,Partner Phubbing Scale,Peer Relationship Scale,Chinese Short Version of Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale and Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version were used as the measurement tools.2396 students were selected from middle schools in Tianjin for questionnaire distribution.2090 valid questionnaires were recovered,and questionnaire effectiveness rate is 87.6%.The data are sorted and statistically analyzed,and the results show that:(1)Parents' phubbing can directly and positively predict problematic smartphone use;(2)Peer relationship and negative emotions play an intermediary role in parents' phubbing and problematic smartphone use.(3)Peer relationship and negative emotions play a chain mediating role in parents' phubbing and problematic smartphone use.Through this research,we can guide the post-2005 s to use smartphone more healthily and cultivate their healthy personality.
