With the development of the digital age,the age of children accessing the Internet for the first time is becoming younger,and the problem of smartphone use is becoming more and more serious.Research on problematic smartphone use found that individuals' subjectively perceived affective and cognitive responses were closely related to problematic smartphone use behavior.Mindful attentional awareness refers to an individual's intentional,uncritical focus on the present moment,reflecting an individual's ability to focus on whatever activity they are doing.Studies have shown that there is a significant negative correlation between mindful attentional awareness and problematic mobile phone use,but the question of how mindful attentional awareness affects problematic smartphone use among junior high school students has not yet been resolved.The core working mechanisms of mindful attentional awareness include emotional,cognitive and behavioral flexibility.The study found that mindful attentional awareness was inversely associated with negative emotions and cognitive failure.Exploring the role of cognitive failure and negative emotions in mindfulness and problematic mobile phone use is important for understanding how mindful attentional awareness affects problematic smartphone use.Therefore,this study aims to understand the characteristics of mindfulness and attention,cognitive failure,negative emotions,and problematic mobile phone use among junior high school students,and to analyze the characteristics of mindful attention,cognitive failure,negative emotions,and problematic mobile phone use among junior high school students Differences in demographic characteristics to explore the mediating role of cognitive failure and negative emotions in mindful attentional awareness and problematic mobile phone use.The Mindfulness-Attention Awareness Scale,Cognitive Failure Scale,Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale and Smartphone Addiction Scale(SAS-SV)were used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 726 students in the first and second grades of a middle school in Tianjin,including 394 boys.,332 girls.The results showed that:(1)There were significant differences in the level of mindfulness and attention awareness among grades.(2)There were significant differences between gender and grade in the total score of cognitive failure and levels of interference,memory,interpersonal failure,and motor coordination.(3)There were significant differences in total negative emotion score,depression and stress levels between genders and grades,and there were significant differences in anxiety between genders.(4)There are significant differences in problematic smartphone use by gender and grade.(5)There is a significant negative correlation between the level of mindful attention awareness and problematic smartphone use,cognitive failure,and negative emotion levels;there is a significant positive correlation between the level of cognitive failure,negative emotion and problematic smartphone use.(6)Cognitive failure and negative emotions partially mediate the relationship between mindful attentional awareness and problematic mobile phone use.To sum up,this study puts forward the following educational suggestions:(1)Improve the level of mindfulness and attention awareness of junior high school students through school training.(2)Each school attaches great importance to the negative emotions of junior high school students.
