This teaching design combines the backbone knowledge and core concepts of high school physics such as the law of uniformly variable linear motion,Newton's law of motion, the law of conservation of momentum, the law of conservation of energy, friction, and force analysis. This teaching design uses the common one-dollar coin in life as the main research tool. This teaching design takes the inquiry activity situation of "colliding two coins with a single coin on paper" as the main research object. The purpose is to provide students with a platform that can be applied after learning the dynamics content. It can enrich the inquiry experience of students in the learning process. This paper develops and researches the activity material "two coins collided with a single coin on paper",and then carries out teaching design. The whole exploration activity mainly revolves around the two motion situations that occur when two superimposed coins are collided with one coin. The first movement situation is that after the collision coin collides with the two superimposed coins, one coin "runs" quickly, and finally on the paper,it can be seen that the three coins are separated from each other by a certain distance.Given this situation,it is natural to ask the following questions. This process takes place for a very short time, and the eyes cannot see clearly at all.Is it the coin above or the coin below "running" out?Does the law of conservation of momentum still hold due to the existence of friction? The coin that collided and the coin above pulled a distance after the collision.Did it bounce back? The second motion situation is that after the two combined coins are collided, you can finally see that the lower coin has moved a distance of half the diameter of the coin relative to the upper coin,so this question can be further asked. How many coin diameters did the top coin and the bottom coin travel on the paper? How much kinetic energy does the colliding coin need to have before it collides? Where did the momentum end up? How to use some common materials in life to make a coin "transmitter",and how to design experiments reasonably to compare the theoretical value with the real situation? It is not easy for students to solve the above problems. Not only do they need to use momentum,Newton's laws of motion, and energy on the basis of force analysis to establish a clear dynamic picture of this series of problems in their minds, but also need to do it by themselves.Measure data, make tools, perform experiments, etc. In short, through such an activity. This paper hopes that students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and methods they have learned to solve real problems.Experience the excitement and surprise that inquiry-based teaching can bring, and feel the unusual way of knowing physics.
