In recent years, global extensive attention has been paid to the Internet of Things(IOT). The technology of the IoT has favored by numerous industry for its characteristic of communication betwee n things and things. The advent of the concept, breaking the traditional mode of thinking, inevitably has an impact on the field of education. Nowadays, inquiry learning is widely advocated as current teaching methods However, Some of the limitations encountered in the process of practice, Such as research content, research situation, research and exploration of ecological evaluation and so on. Fortunately, the application of IOT technology makes possible to reduce these restrictions.This study uses literature method, observation method, investigation method to delve into some limitations of inquiry learning mode based on traditional learning situation.By means of the characteristics of IOT technology, an inquiry learning model based on Internet of things is to be designed. In this study, the transverse, longitudinal structure model design are introduced in detail, as well as the operation mode of the model. By the way of combining Inquiry learning principles with characteristics of IOT technology, it is expected to create an inquiry learning circle including students and teachers, parents and social participants. At the same time, through the "perception education" project investigation and comparison with designed model, it is hoped to bring certain reference and guidance for the spread of IOT technology application in the field of education in the future.
