At present,artificial intelligence technology and applications are booming all over the world.As a way of cultivating artificial intelligence talents,artificial intelligence education has a prominent position in the development strategies of various countries.Artificial intelligence education in our country for all age groups is developing in full swing.At the stage of compulsory education,the current common artificial intelligence courses are mainly about python programming code or robot courses,limited to the level of skill experience.There are few courses specializing in machine learning and other artificial intelligence principles.In response to these problems,the research designed and developed the school-based course "Machine Learning" for students in the compulsory education stage.The main work of the research includes the following two aspects:(1)For the cognitive development characteristics of students in the compulsory education stage(senior students in elementary school and junior students in junior high school),the research designed a school-based course of "Machine Learning" for them,which involves the understanding of complex concepts such as neurons,weights,errors,and neural networks.(2)Centering on school-based development,the research team independently developed an assisted-learning platform,combined with appropriate life cases,in order to reduce students' cognitive load and improve students' understanding of the principles of artificial intelligence.(3)The research selected a school in P district of Shanghai to conduct practical research on two classes to preliminarily verify the applicability of the school-based curriculum.The research shows that the school-based course "Machine Learning" designed in this research for the compulsory education period has improved the students' understanding of the principles of artificial intelligence and optimized the learning experience.The corresponding teaching design can provide a demonstration case for the compulsory education of artificial intelligence.The ML platform can also be an effective tool for students to learn the principles of machine learning.
