In 2017,mathematical modeling literacy,as one of the six core literacy of middle school mathematics, was written into the new curriculum standard.Since then, mathematical modeling and mathematical modeling literacy have attracted more and more attention, and it was urgent and important to integrate mathematical modeling literacy into daily teaching. The conic section occupies a very important position in high school mathematics. It is a part of the compulsory examination for the college entrance examination, and it is also a good carrier for mathematical modeling.Linking high school conic section with mathematical modeling literacy,it is very meaningful to study how to cultivate students' mathematical modeling literacy through conic section teaching both in theory and in practice. This study firstly reviewed the current situation of domestic and foreign teaching based on mathematical modeling and the related research on conic section teaching by consulting various materials.Secondly, taking the conic curve as an example,a test survey was conducted on the current situation of high school students' mathematical modeling literacy, and structured interviews were conducted with front-line teachers.Thirdly, combined with the results of the survey and interviews, the factors affecting the mathematical modeling literacy of high school students were analyzed, and according to the influencing factors of mathematical modeling literacy, teachers' teaching status and students' modeling literacy status, teaching strategies were put forward. Finally, the two modules of ellipse and hyperbola were designed for teaching cases, hoping to help front-line teachers to cultivate students' mathematical modeling literacy in the teaching of conic sections through examples.Through the analysis of students' test data and the results of teacher interviews, the following specific conclusions are drawn:(1)From a statistical point of view, using SPSS software, and according to the score data of the test papers, the analysis is as follows: Most of the students can reach the level1 of mathematical modeling literacy, less than half of the students can reach level 2,and only 11.96% of the students can reach level 3,indicating that the comprehensive performance of current students' mathematical modeling literacy is poor, and the overall performance of boys' literacy is higher than that of girls. There are also significant differences in the total score, and there are also significant differences between the innovative class and the ordinary class.(2)Through interviews with three front-line senior high school teachers of different teaching ages,it is learned that teachers neglect students' mathematical modeling literacy, and usually focus on students' knowledge, and rarely examine students' mathematical literacy.Based on the above research results, combined with the results of interviews with front-line teachers, the following teaching strategies are proposed: schools should enrich teaching resources, organize more extracurricular mathematical modeling activities, and strengthen teacher training on mathematical modeling topics;teachers should broaden their knowledge, update their thinking and concepts, create situations to cultivate interest, carry out inquiry-based teaching, and use computers flexibly.
