With the continuous advancement of the Internet,the number of users and the transmission rate have always maintained rapid growth.Internet-dependent instant messaging,search engines,telecommuting,online shopping,online entertainment,online education and online medical care have placed higher demands on the speed and transmission stability of the Internet’s basic technologies.Fibre Channel is a network storage switching technology that provides long-distance and high-bandwidth transmission,enabling the transfer of large data files between storage,servers and client nodes.Nowadays,the scale and structure of Very large-scale integration(VLSI)are becoming more and more complicated.In the front-end design of the chip,it is necessary to identify as many design deficiencies or even vulnerabilities as possible and as early as possible.The Universal Verification Methodology(UVM)is currently the latest and most mainstream verification method.The verification platform built using UVM is a standardized verification platform driven by coverage,randomized test excitation,and high reusability.This article introduces the switching network system based on Fibre Channel protocol,including switch design and UVM verification platform construction.First,the design of a four-port switch is completed,based on the CICQ(Combined Input-Crosspoint Queued)structure.The switch uses LQD(Longest Queue Detecting)as the input scheduling algorithm and RR(Round Robin)as the output scheduling algorithm,using frame splitting and reassembly strategy,using Crosspoint intersection to realize non-blocking path and VOQ(Virtual Output Queue)technology to improve data exchange performance,and use Verilog hardware description language to achieve.Then,a UVM verification platformisbuilt,which has components such as Interface,Transaction,Agent,Scoreboard,Reference Model,etc.,and uses the coverage component to collect functional coverage,using System Verilog language to complete the verification platform construction.The verification platform strictly abides by the UVM specification,and has good scalability and reusability.This article uses the Questa Sim tool provided by Mentor for simulation,and the verification mode is black box verification.The combination of random test excitation and directional test excitation is used to complete the simulation verification of input blocking and non-blocking conditions The simulation results show that the UVM verification platform works normally,the function coverage is 100%,and the data packets sent and received are correct.The function of the Fibre Channel switch designed in this subject is correct.
