Looking at the current social media,"weight loss,slimming" has become a hot topic for women across age and culture in social network.A4 waist,backhand touching navel and other body challenges have triggered a series of online carnivals.What's more,losing weight has even become a daily routine for many women who have normal body shape.Issues related to body anxiety have also emerged on social media.Indeed,body has its inevitable biological properties,but with the development of society,it has been marked with unique social symbols.The body shape symbols on social media amplify women's “physical defect”.Women's processed photos on social media show perfect looks and perfect bodies,which triggers individual cognition deviation.Firstly,through text analysis and online ethnography,this article starts from the perspective of social media for female body symbols,and discusses the current status of the construction of female body shape symbols in social media.At the same time,it explores the relationship between contemporary female aesthetics and the female body symbols constructed in social media.Secondly,aiming at the new media form of social media,on the basis of the communication framework,conduct empirical analysis by constructing a structural model of the aesthetic influence of the use of social media on female body shapes.In the meantime,the empirical results are combined with social comparison theory,social culture theory and social cognitive theory to explore the influence of female body symbols on women's aesthetic and analyze the social psychological factors.Moreover,it will be combined with the semioticist Peirce's symbolic meaning theory,Pierre's symbolic violence theory,Bakhtin's carnival theory,and consumerism related theories for in-depth exploration.For women,this research aims to help women face up to their body types,awaken their self-awareness,correctly identify the internal information of body symbols in social media,avoid consumerism traps,reduce self-discipline,and resolve "gaze" and "be gazed at",relieve body anxiety and pressure,and face up to their own subject status.As far as social media is concerned,this research helps self-media and cyberspace opinion leaders to face up to their own symbolic violence and other problems in their own symbol construction process,establish a good sense of responsibility,adjust the symbol construction model by changing content and methods,and create a more harmonious and healthy online social space.For the society,it is expected to help reduce a series of social hidden dangers caused by mental stress of body anxiety,such as female depression,excessive weight loss,and eating disorders,so as to improve women's social status,and face up to women's social value.
