Exploration On Group Work Of Leukemia Children’s Hospitalization Adaptation

After some contact to the children with leukemia who are sent to the hospital repeatedly,during the my internship in the hematology department in the Shanxi Children’s Hospital,the author find some serious problems.Firstly,The children have some negative emotions,influencing his interaction with the parents,doctors and his fellow.Second,the treatment compliance of children with leukemia is low,and there is a rebellious psychology.Therefore,the main question as a doctor is how to relieve the suffering child’s negative disposition during his hospital time,how to lead him obedient to the doctors,enrich his pleasure for this hospital time based on the theory of strengths perspective and cognitive behavior.The work for our medical team "The doctors will be with you for this tough time" is divided into five stages.During the lead time,the author investigated the problem of physiology and psychology with the suffering children during the ward rounds,assess their real demand,helping us confirm the team aim,team member selection and working type,also the working programme.With the help of the encouragement from the social workers and daily interaction with the other suffering children,the children and their parents became familiar with the social workers,then we will make the team member selection based on the adaptability between the author and the children and the real demand.The work of the group of "braving the wind and waves to cure you" was carried out smoothly.By helping the group members to establish relationships and obtain more material and spiritual support from the social support network,the group members were helped to clarify irrational beliefs,establish correct behavior patterns and develop good habits of hospitalization.At the same time,I also helped team members to explore their own potential advantages and establish a healthy psychology of self-confidence and self-love,with remarkable results.The pre-test and post-test results of children’s social interaction anxiety test(SASC)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)showed that the anxiety and depression mood of children with leukemia were significantly improved after group service,showing a positive life state.However,at the same time,there are still many deficiencies in group work,including the implementation of social work professional concepts,such as the lack of theory application in each group activity and the author’s low professional status as a student.For team work in leukemia children,so the author puts forward the reflection and improvement,strive to through this experience to interfere with plump group work intervention leukemia group practice system,local path for medical social worker,improve leukemia patient populations living conditions,reduce anxiety and depression,improve patient compliance,to achieve a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.
