With the social transformation and the deepening reform of quality education in our country,the cultivation of talents has moved from singularity to diversification.College student associations as an important position,open up the second classroom is not only enrich the campus cultural life of students,meet the needs of the student's personal interest,arouse the students' specialty,promote the comprehensive development of students' physique and fatigue,also through community activities,will be linked to other social practice students,make its constantly improve their practice ability,become the critical path of diversified personnel training.General Secretary Xi Jinping also pointed out that we should pay attention to the role of student associations and strengthen the construction of the second classroom when he made an important speech at the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities.Therefore,more and more colleges and universities begin to pay attention to the management of student associations and actively explore the management mode and methods of student associations.On the other hand,the development of characteristic applied colleges and universities has become the focus of university development and innovation reform in recent years.As early as 2014,the Plan for the Construction of the Modern Vocational Education System(2014-2020)has proposed the development of colleges and universities of applied technology and the cultivation of vocational talents at the undergraduate level.In February 2019,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "Modernization of Chinese Education2035" also stressed the need to strengthen the training of innovative talents,increase the proportion of applied,complex,technical and skilled personnel training.As the second classroom of higher education,student associations are the key bridge and important embodiment of the development of application-oriented characteristics in higher education.Therefore,the development of student associations has attracted more attention from application-oriented colleges and universities.How to manage the associations well and make them play a better role in promoting the cultivation of talents has become an important research issue.In view of this,this paper uses literature research and interview method,combined with resource dependence theory and student development theory,to understand the development status of application-oriented universities,compare with other universities,explore their differences,and then analyze the characteristics of student societies in application-oriented universities,and take Jiangxi University of Science and Technology as an example to analyze the current situation of student societies management.To find out the problems existing in student society management,such as unreasonable composition of society categories,shortage of society resources,insufficient funds,imperfect management of society objectives,imperfect rules and regulations,and lack of professional guidance.And put forward some suggestions and countermeasures,such as optimizing the category structure of the community,expanding the funding channels of the community activities,building the management system of the community by objective,improving the system construction of the student community,and establishing the mechanism for the professional guidance of the development of the community.
