As an important driving force for China's regional economic growth,higher education plays an important role in personnel training,scientific research,cultural construction and social service provision.As China is about to embark on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way and its economic development has entered a new stage,China's regional economic growth will put more emphasis on the improvement of quality and efficiency,and at the same time will rely more on the improvement of human capital quality and technological progress.However,from the perspective of China's current situation,there is an obvious imbalance between regional higher education investment and economic growth,and the previous studies mostly focused on the correlation analysis of the two and the qualitative analysis based on the single perspective of human capital,and the lack of a more systematic and comprehensive research perspective.Therefore,from the perspective of coupling,it is necessary to comprehensively and quantitatively evaluate the relationship between regional higher education input and economic growth in China and analyze its spatial correlation,which is not only conducive to further grasp the mechanism and current situation of inter-regional higher education input and economic growth in China.At the same time,it is also conducive to the implementation of the "Chinese Education Modernization 2035" to enhance the balance of regional distribution of education resources and reduce the differences of the requirements,conform to the development of the new era.This paper systematically sorts out the domestic and foreign research on the relationship between regional higher education investment and economic growth,higher education investment and management,and introduces the theory of unbalanced development,PSR and other theories,which lays the theoretical foundation of the full text.The PSR model is used to analyze the role of regional higher education input in promoting economic growth and regional economic growth in promoting higher education input,and then the coupling mechanism of regional higher education input and economic growth is clarified.Respectively set up regional higher education investment,economic growth subsystem and the coupling effect between the system,selection of 30 provinces in China(excluding Tibet and Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan area),2008-2019 of relevant data to carry on the comprehensive evaluation,and use the coupling coordination degree model to measure the coupling coordination degree,using moran index to evaluate the spatial correlation.Thirty provinces in China are divided into four regions: eastern,northeastern,central and western,and the evaluation results are analyzed.According to the results,some suggestions are put forward to improve the coupling coordination between regional higher education input and economic growth.In view of the unbalanced and uncoordinated phenomenon of regional higher education input and economic growth in China,this paper puts forward the coupling mechanism between regional higher education input and economic growth,and on this basis constructs the coupling coordination degree evaluation system to evaluate the coupling coordination degree.This not only has a certain reference value for the prediction of the coupling coordination between regional higher education input and economic growth in China,but also has a guiding significance for improving the efficiency of inter-regional higher education resource allocation in China.
