Research On Educational Anxiety Of Parents Of Infants And Toddlers

Education is one of the core issues of the study of social work.In recent years,various social phenomena caused by "education anxiety" have gradually evolved into a public topic of concern in today’s China.This tension,which is caused by the uncertainty of various social factors in the process of educating children,especially the process and outcome of education,has become an important entry point to understand the social mentality of contemporary China.Using qualitative research method,this paper conducts a field case study on the F Center of Early Education in Wuhu City,Anhui Province,where the author once worked,and tries to make a preliminary analysis of the causes,manifestations and influences of Chinese parents’ "educational anxiety",and then to think about the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.This paper holds that parents’ educational anxiety is mainly the result of the interaction of the parents’ themselves,family and social environment.For parents of0-3 years old infants,the content of anxiety mostly focuses on worrying about family education and their own ability,infants’ ability to take care of themselves in life,social communication ability,intellectual development and learning ability.The generation of this anxiety is closely related to the operation logic of the early education centers that they not only help relieve anxiety,but also disguised as "selling" anxiety.On the basis of in-depth description and comparative analysis of the cases,the author puts forward the phenomenon of educational anxiety “sinking”,that is,it is sinking from parents of middle school,primary school and kindergarten to parents of0-3 years old infants in time,and sinking from big cities in eastern coastal areas to medium-sized cities in central China in space.Finally,based on the above analysis,this paper puts forward countermeasures to alleviate parents’ educational anxiety from four aspects: changing educational concepts,strengthening supervision,reforming education system and improving social security system.
