The COVID-19 epidemic has brought about a leap in the development of online learning in China. With the guidelines of the policy of “classes suspended but learning continues”,the teaching method of domestic universities has rapidly shifted from traditional face-to-face learning to online learning,so that college teachers and students have experienced an unusual learning experience together.A large number of studies related to education during the epidemic also emerged, including education policy, network resource construction, learning experience and so on.However, few studies have investigated learners' learning experience and influencing factors in large-scale online learning over a long period of time during the epidemic. In this study,457 learners from 39 majors were selected as participants to analyze the learning experience of college students, their group differences, and the critical factors that affect learning effectiveness and satisfaction in the special learning experience of home learning during the epidemic period. It was found that learners were generally satisfied with the online learning experience and were willing to participate in such online courses again. For learners of different gender groups, the score of learner-learner interaction in the female group was higher than that in the male group. For learners of different school terms, postgraduates got significantly higher score than undergraduates in three dimensions, including self-discipline,learner-learner interaction and satisfaction. As for the analysis of the critical factors of online learning success,it was found that system quality, course design,learner-learner interaction,learner-content interaction, learner self-discipline,and learner responsibility all significantly positively influenced learner satisfaction.Learner-instructor interaction had no significant effect on learner satisfaction. In terms of the learner's self-reported learning outcome, system quality,learner-learner interaction,learner-content interaction, and learner selfdiscipline had a positive impact on that. However, course design,learner-instructor interaction and learner responsibility had no significant impact on learning outcome. Finally,to improve the design of online learning in such learning environments and scenarios, some suggestions made by the study are as follows: Improve learners' self-discipline and enhance their cognition of self-development;Strengthen network and platform construction and provide technical assistance for teachers to improve learners' online learning experience;Design the course from the learner's point of view to stimulate the learner's internal motivation;Build a learning community to stimulate effective interaction between learners.
