Soil and water resources are one of the most abundant natural resources on earth, and the most basic material basis and life guarantee of human society, which determines the survival and development of human society to a certain extent. The issue of soil and water resources has become a common concern in the world today. In recent years, global warming, human activities on the intensification of the demand for natural resources, resulting in the deterioration of the human environment,over-exploitation of water resources, land resources degradation,human-land conflict is becoming increasingly prominent. As the cornerstone of all socio-economic development, the sustainability of water and soil resources affects the future development of the region. As a major base for grain production in China and an important hub connecting the Russian Far East,it is necessary to recognize the relationship between current economic development and soil and water resources, and to evaluate and analyze the carrying capacity of soil and water resources in Heilongjiang Province and its municipalities.Based on the ecological footprint model of water resources and ecological model of land resources, this paper analyzes and calculates the ecological surplus and deficit states of water resources and land resources in Heilongjiang Province and municipalities from 2010 to 2020,and finally uses the LMDI model to analyze the driving factors that cause changes in the ecological footprint of water resources and land resources in Heilongjiang Province. The following conclusions were obtained based on the study:(1)the ecological footprint of water resources per capita in Heilongjiang Province shows a stable state from 2010 to 2020,with an up-and-down fluctuation;the per capita water resources carrying capacity varies greatly from year to year, showing an up-anddown fluctuation, which is closely related to the rainfall in that year;the ecological deficit of water resources per capita in Heilongjiang Province shows a decreasing trend, with a decrease in the high level ecological deficit area and an increase in the high level ecological surplus area;from the spatial dimension it seems that The ecological carrying capacity of water resources in the northern part of Heilongjiang Province is significantly higher than that in other regions, and the ecological carrying capacity of water resources in the western part is the smallest.Except for the years when the rainfall is obviously for more average rainfall, the ecological stress index of water resources in Heilongjiang Province is greater than 1,and the water resources are in an insecure stage.(2)The ecological footprint of land resources per capita in Heilongjiang shows a trend of increasing, then decreasing and then increasing from 2010 to 2020;the components of the total ecological footprint of land resources in Heilongjiang Province, the part of arable land and water area accounts for more than 90%,which plays an important role in the interannual variation of ecological footprint of land resources in Heilongjiang Province. The carrying capacity of land resources per capita in Heilongjiang Province meets the needs of social production, the high level area of ecological surplus of land resources per capita increases, and the land resources of the province are in a sustainable state.(3)The inter-annual variation of water resources ecological footprint and land resources ecological footprint in Heilongjiang Province is analyzed by LMDI model, which shows that the effect of regional scale economy plays an important role in promoting the growth of water resources ecological footprint in Heilongjiang Province, and the effect of technological progress inhibits and hinders the growth of water resources ecological footprint in Heilongjiang Province. In the interannual variation of ecological footprint of land resources in Heilongjiang Province, the effect of technological progress hinders and restricts the growth of ecological footprint of land role, and the effect of regional scale economy keeps driving its growth.
