Green total factor productivity(GTFP)is one of the essential indicators to measure high-quality economic development.It is of great value to study the impact mechanism of regional green total factor productivity from a new perspective of the digital economy and industrial structure upgrading to improve the quality of regional economic development.Therefore,to find the main influencing factor in green total factor productivity,this paper uses the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020 selected to build an evaluation index system for the development level of the digital economy from the three dimensions of digital infrastructure,digital industry,and digital environment,and the weight is calculated with the CRITIC method.Then,the dynamic change and regional differences in the development level of China’s digital economy are analyzed by the Kernel density estimation method,Dagum Gini coefficient,and decomposition method.Further,the SBM model with undesirable output is used to measure green total factor productivity.Finally,the Tobit model with random effects,Moderating Effect model,and a sub-sample regression model are used to study the impact of the digital economy and industrial structure upgrading on green total factor productivity and the heterogeneity of their effect,and a robustness test is conducted.The research shows that the development level of China’s digital economy is on the rise year by year.Compared with the central and western regions,the development level of the digital economy in eastern China is relatively high.Although the relative difference in digital economy development among regions is narrowing,the absolute difference in digital economy development among areas is growing.Both the digital economy and industrial structure upgrading can promote the improvement of green total factor productivity.The interaction between them has a significant positive impact on green total factor productivity,and the impact of the digital economy and industrial structure upgrading on green total factor productivity has significant regional differences.
