From The Perspective Of Archaeological Typology To Judging The Age Of Ming And Qing Dynasty Seats

Ming and Qing furniture is an important representative of my country’s excellent traditional culture.It is an art treasure that people are vying to collect in contemporary society and has received extensive attention from all walks of life.But in this field,the problem of the dating of Ming and Qing furniture has not been systematically resolved.If the furniture of Ming and Qing Dynasties had not been accurately dated in the era,the works of the same period could not be combined into a community,and the commonality between them could not be correctly summarized,and the conclusion would lose its scientificity.It can be seen that the dating of furniture is an important prerequisite for related academic research.Therefore,based on the research methods of archeological typology,this study takes representative seats as examples to analyze the shapes of seats in current collections and private collections.Starting from the similarities and differences in form and function,classify,type,subtype and form of furniture.Secondly,research on the age of these furniture from the two aspects of image and decoration.Its purpose is to explore the characteristics of Ming and Qing sitting utensils,including the shape,components and decorations.It provides an objective basis for judging the age of the seat.Then draw the type evolution and stage comparison table of various types of furniture,and analyze its development and evolution process,including the increase of components,the combination of materials,mainstream patterns and the emergence of new styles.Finally,the summary of the research on Ming and Qing furniture by stages,through combing,sums up the respective characteristics of Ming and Qing furniture,and reveals the evolution of Ming and Qing furniture.Through analysis and research,the characteristics of the Ming and Qing Seats in each period are finally obtained.The furniture in the early Ming Dynasty was dominated by lacquered wood furniture,and the shape and system inherited from Song and Yuan.In the mid and late Ming Dynasty,the number of furniture began to increase and it was well-made.The form of furniture in the early Qing Dynasty inherited the style of the Ming Dynasty on the one hand;on the other hand,In order to cater to the aesthetics of the new rulers and the influence of foreign cultures,"Qing-style furniture"appeared.In the mid-Qing Dynasty,"Qing-style furniture" became more popular and became a more favored style by the upper class.The furniture of the late Qing Dynasty was more restrained in decoration,crude materials,and poorly carved.
