| The global economy is rapidly changing from industrial economy to digital economy,and digital transformation is imperative.The manufacturing industry is the main body of the national economy,and it promotes digital transformation to help enterprises develop with high quality.Therefore,it is very important for enterprises to implement digital transformation.The industries with rapid digital transformation are finance,retail and other industries,compared with the steel industry,the level of digitization is low and the degree of intelligence is still lacking.Therefore,the enterprises that have undergone transformation in the earlier period have a vital reference role for the transformation of other manufacturing enterprises.At present,most of the past studies are empirical studies,and there are relatively few case studies on digital transformation.And few specific analyses on the implementation of digital transformation in iron and steel enterprises.Therefore,based on contingency theory,organizational change theory and value chain theory,this paper analyzes the causes and paths of digital transformation in Baosteel,analyzes the effect of digital transformation of the case enterprise,and finally explores the impact of digital transformation on enterprise performance from financial and non-financial dimensions,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Through analysis,it is found that Baosteel’s digital transformation has reduced labor cost,improved enterprise operational efficiency and promoted technological progress.(2)From the perspective of financial dimension,after the digital transformation,rate of return on net assets and inventory turnover increased significantly,profitability was enhanced,and there were certain advantages in profitability;the asset liability ratio is declining and gradually showing a stable trend,the turnover rate of accounts receivable is increasing year by year,the solvency is further improved.(3)From the perspective of non-financial dimension,it has improved customer satisfaction,the social contribution value per share and the environmental performance have been improved,and the total factor productivity in the growth of enterprises has been increasing year by year.The overall performance of Baosteel’s after digital transformation has been significantly improved.To sum up,by comparing the impact of Baosteel’s digital transformation on its performance before and after,this paper draws the experience of digital transformation that can be used for reference by peers,and provides some enlightenment for manufacturing enterprises to plan a digital transformation road suitable for their own development and for enterprises to carry out digital transformation. |
