Since the 1980s,Western modern and contemporary art schools and trends have begun to enter China,colliding and integrating with local art.Currently,Chinese contemporary oil painting has shown diversified artistic characteristics.From directly borrowing Western modern art expression language in the early stage,to integrating contemporary aesthetics and returning to traditional Eastern painting,gradually demonstrating a unique modern Eastern aesthetic.Among them,graphic painting language has become a unique way of artistic expression.The representative painters of modern oil painting planarization include Klimt,David Hockney,Alex Katz,and Wang Huaiqing.They have broken through the limitations of traditional Western classical painting’s realistic representation,subjectively portraying object shapes and colors,poetic beauty,advocating the pursuit of spirit,artistic conception,Alex Katz displays the painter’s inner emotions,pursuit of individuality,and integration with modern life in a flat manner.Wang Huaiqing has opened up a feasible path in exploring the artistic path of nationalization of oil painting by combining flat language with traditional Chinese elements.The combination of unified elements has opened up a feasible path in exploring the artistic path of nationalization of oil painting.This article takes the flat artistic language as the research goal.The first part elaborates the flat artistic theory and clarifies its theoretical overview.Sort out the development process of flat language,analyze the artistic characteristics of flat language,and understand the artistic charm of its expression.The second part studies the representative painters at home and abroad who are typical of planarization: Vienna Secession artist Klimt,American Alex Katz,British David Hockney,and Chinese Wang Huaiqing.Collect relevant books,CNKI papers,organize images,and analyze their artistic characteristics.The third part explores the use of oil painting planarization language in the creation of Hanfu themes,exploring the contrast and expressiveness of colors,changes in the thickness of lines,and the simplification and subjectivity of shapes.Bringing new vitality to traditional clothing elements through contemporary painting language expression,exploring personal reflections on the graphic language of contemporary painting.
