Research On Andre Gorz’s Ecological Criticism Theory Of Capitalism

The serious ecological crisis faced by the post-industrial era of capitalism has prompted people to think about how to better solve ecological problems and achieve harmonious coexistence between man and nature.Ecological Marxism adheres to the position of Marxism and combines ecology with Marxism,which better reflects the era implication of Marx’s critical theory of capitalism.Ander Gorz(hereinafter referred to as Gorz),a contemporary French philosopher,is an important representative of Ecological Marxism.Under the background of the increasing ecological crisis in the West,the gradual rise of the green movement,and the outbreak of the " May Storm " in France,he comprehensively absorbed Marx’s critical theory of political economy,Sartre’s existentialist philosophy,Frankfurt School’s critical theory of technical rationality,and Lefebvre’s critical theory of daily life.After three stages of germination,formation,and development,his capitalist ecological critical theory was formed.Gorz’s capitalist ecological critical theory includes the criticism of the division of labor,economic rationality,alienated consumption,science and technology in capitalist society and the construction of ecological socialism.In the criticism of division of labor,the connotation of division of labor,the relationship between division of labor and labor alienation,and the harm of division of labor are analyzed.In the criticism of economic rationality,it explains the connotation of economic rationality,the root of economic rationality and the harm of economic rationality;in the criticism of alienated consumption,it reveals the relationship between alienated labor and alienated consumption,the relationship between alienated consumption and false demand,and the harm of alienated consumption.In the criticism of science and technology,he expressed his opposition to the theory of technological neutrality,and discussed the ideological function of science and technology and the harm of capitalist science and technology.On the construction of ecological socialism,Gorz believes that it is necessary to rebuild the revolutionary subject of ecological socialism,transcend economic rationality,rebuild ecological rationality,implement radical pluralistic democratic struggle and labor strategy,and build a dual social model based on steady-state economy and decentralized technology.Gorz’s capitalist ecological critical theory shows certain rationality,which not only opens up a unique perspective of capitalist political ecological criticism,deepens Marxist crisis theory,but also enriches the theoretical system of ecological Marxism.Gorz’s critical theory of capitalist ecology has an enlightening effect on the rational use and restriction of capital in contemporary China,the correct understanding of the two sides of science and technology,and the establishment of a correct view of labor,consumption and happiness.In addition,its theory has obvious limitations,which are mainly manifested in three aspects :one-sided understanding of the ecological crisis,deterministic tendency of capitalist science and technology,and utopian vision of ecological socialism.
