Pressurized treatment is the most common and convenient method for treating Varicose Veins,by choosing the right medical graduated compression stockings(MGCs)according to the patient’s condition,a gradual reduction of pressure would be created on human leg, which facilitates the blood flow back. However, there are some common limitations in practical use of MGCs,the patient compliance would be decreased due to the discomfort after long-time wearing, which results in longer treatment time and poorer treatment effect. There were few studies on the comfort of MGCs,therefore, the comfort of MGCs was studied and analyzed by choosing 15 compression stockings with different material components, tissue structures, pressure levels: the content and evaluation methods of the comfort of MGCs were determined by combining literature analysis and consumer demand research, the subjective and objective evaluation of contact, heat and humidity, pressure performance were carried out,the comprehensive evaluation model of MGCs were constructed, and the factors affecting the comfort of compression stockings were analyzed in order to provide suggestions for consumers to reasonably select products and manufacturers to optimize product performance.First,by combining comfort formation mechanism and consumer demand research results the connotation and comprehensive evaluation method of medical compression stocking comfortability was determined. And the comfort of MGCs in three different sports states:sitting, standing, and sweating were subjectively evaluated, and learned that the subjects obviously felt discomfort when wearing MGCs,and when the pressure level was larger, the discomfort of compression, roughness, and stiffness became more obvious;and different comfort sensations changed according different sports states. The subjective evaluation varied significantly when the material components, tissue structure and pressure level changed,so the material structure of the pressure sock can be designed to optimize its comfort performance.Secondly, the objective evaluation indexes of contact, heat and moisture, and pressure of MGCs were separately tested and evaluated, the results showed that the fabric that generated higher pressure possessed lower tensile properties and higher resistance to deformation, and its moisture permeability and breathability performance, moisture absorption and heat transfer performance is worse.By changing the material components and tissue structure could effectively improve the bending or shear deformation performance of the fabric, moisture permeability and breathability, and the mechanical properties will affect the contact conditions between the fabric and the skin, further affecting the size of the pressure exerted on the skin and the sense of pressure, friction, itchiness and other contact sensations. Finally, the correspondence between the objective indexes and the subjective evaluation was established by gray correlation method, and the results showed that for the principal factor Y1,which was reflected by the combination of contact comfort and pressure comfort, was influenced by the fabric transverse elastic recovery rate and constant load elongation rate, contact pressure, transverse shear stiffness, longitudinal elastic recovery rate and transverse bending stiffness. The main factor Y2,was most influenced by the transverse elastic recovery rate and constant load elongation, core suction height, moisture permeability, contact pressure, and compression ratio work of the fabric. The main factor Y3,was most influenced by the objective indicators such as transverse elasticity recovery rate, contact pressure, air permeability, core absorption height and compression ratio work.
