Tea culture has an important historical position in the long flow of Chinese culture,and China is also the birthplace of tea.Tea drinking dates back to the Shennong Period,more than 4,700 years ago.Tea drinking is a kind of elegant culture,which precipitates the essence of Chinese culture.Tea is also known as the national drink in the historical development of China.Now tea has developed into one of the three popular non-alcoholic drinks in the world,which is also known as "the liquid of health and the drink of the soul".Packaging design is a subject with the integration of natural science and aesthetic ideas,plays an important role in the transmission of information,protection,transportation,among which the display of product information as the main function.Tea culture presents product content through packaging,which is of great value for studying the relationship between tea culture and tea packaging.The integration of tea culture and packaging design can present the design characteristics of tea culture in different times,as well as consumers’ aesthetic preferences and product needs.There are a wide variety of tea products in China,and products from different regions have formed different regional characteristics.From the perspective of packaging,tea culture has endowed tea packaging with higher cultural connotation,and packaging design is more conducive to the inheritance of tea culture.With the gradual promotion of Hainan Free Trade Port,Hainan White Sand green tea,as a unique regional product of Hainan,has come into the public’s view.Baisha green tea grows in meteor crater and has a mineral soil environment that is unreplicable and rare.Compared with other teas,the nutritional composition of Baisha green tea is very superior.Besides,Baisha green tea grows in Li autonomous Region and is also a representative product of the ethnic character.However,after many field visits,it was found that the packaging illustrations of Baisha green tea generally lacked aesthetic feeling and could not spread its regional culture,environmental advantages and product advantages.Moreover,the product was simple in shape,which was not conducive to carrying,and the large opening of the inner packaging was difficult to protect the quality of tea.If Baisha green tea wants to be promoted more,it is necessary to rely on the regional culture,ethnic culture and new ideas of Baisha,expand the consumer market and consumer groups,and bring enduring vitality to the Baisha green tea industry.The unique regional illustration art and new tea drinking form can effectively convey the cultural information of the product from a visual perspective,bring aesthetic enjoyment to consumers,and let more people know about white sand green tea.This paper will analyze the design elements of portable tea packaging by combing the concept and value of illustrations,and analyze the role of illustrations in portable tea packaging by combining the illustrations and structure of well-known tea products in domestic and foreign markets.At the same time,the design status of Baisha green tea packaging was analyzed,the consumer groups and demands of tea products were deeply explored,and the targeted groups in the portable tea market were positioned,so as to propose the principles of communication,intuitionism and innovation that Baisha green tea portable tea packaging should follow.In the process of design practice,unique cultural elements such as Baisha green tea culture,ethnic culture,fresh fruit and tea sets are used to extract these elements for innovation,and different illustration styles are used to finally apply them to portable tea packaging.Through the illustrations,consumers can understand the unique regional culture of Baisha green tea,so as to increase the market sales of Baisha green tea.
