In order to solve today’s increasingly serious ecological and environmental problems and to find a path to sustainable social development,General Secretary Xi Jinping,standing at a new height of the future development of ecological civilisation of mankind,has put forward the idea of ecological civilisation to provide theoretical support for the practical activities of ecological civilisation construction with this idea.However,no practical activity can be undertaken without the guidance of a way of thinking.As an important way for human beings to understand and transform the world,the way of thinking is particularly important in an ideological system,not only guiding people’s practical activities,but also providing a way of thinking for the systematic promotion of various tasks.General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in the report of the20 th National Congress that it is necessary to grasp the world view and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,adhere to the concept of system,constantly improve the ability of strategic thinking,historical thinking,dialectical thinking,systematic thinking,innovative thinking,rule of law thinking and bottom-line thinking,and provide scientific thinking methods for advancing the work undertakings of the Party and the state.Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization，as an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, also needs to use these seven ways of thinking to promote the construction of ecological civilization.This paper takes the way of thinking as a starting point to systematically study Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilisation as a whole,so that people can understand this thought from a new perspective.By analysing and discussing their theoretical sources,basic contents and contemporary values,it achieves a deeper and more comprehensive interpretation of Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilisation in the context of the 20 th National Congress report.The article focuses on the following aspects of this topic.Firstly,it explains why this article is based on the ways of thinking to explain Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilisation,based on a definition of these ways of thinking,and explains the basic connotations and logical relationships of these ways of thinking,providing the ideological premise for the rest of the article.Secondly,the sources and basic contents of the ways of thinking in Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilisation are discussed,and the specific manifestations of these ways of thinking in past and current ecological construction practices are sought.Finally,the contemporary value of the ways of thinking in Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilisation is discussed.Xi Jinping’s thinking on ecological civilisation is based on the inheritance and development of the ecological civilisation concepts of his predecessors,and is proposed in response to the ecological and environmental problems of the world today.At present,the construction of ecological civilisation in China is still facing many challenges,and we need to apply these ways of thinking to provide practical guidance for the solution of ecological problems,further promote the realisation of the goal of a beautiful China,advance the future development of ecological civilisation for humanity,contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to global ecological and environmental governance,and demonstrate China’s responsibility and commitment to global ecological and environmental governance.
