| Metal foam is widely used in all walks of life because of its lightweight, good energy, sound absorption properties and electromagnetic shielding. The interpenetrating phase composite material formed by pouring epoxy resin into the foam nickel-iron skeleton is an emerging composite material, which not only has the characteristics of foam metal but also improves the overall mechanical properties of the material.Due to the hard and brittle property of epoxy resin after curing, the bending resistance and impact resistance are poor,so the research on toughening and modification of epoxy resin has also become particularly important. In this paper, three kinds of foam nickel-iron/epoxy/polyether sulfone composites with different pore sizes will be studied by bending and low-speed impact experiments, and the effects of foam nickel-iron pore size and polyether sulfone mass ratio on the mechanical properties of the composites will be discussed. In this paper, three kinds of foam nickel-iron with different pore sizes were used to prepare composite bending specimens with polyether sulfone mass ratio of 0%,2%,3%,4%,5% and 6%,respectively.Three-point bending experiments were carried out to analyze the influence of the pore size of foam nickel-iron and the mass ratio of polyether sulfone on the bending load-displacement curve, energy absorption performance, bending strength, bending elastic modulus, specific strength and specific stiffness of the composites. The results showed that when the PPI of foam nickel-iron was 40 and the mass ratio of polyether sulfone is 3%,the bending toughness, energy absorption and mechanical properties of the composites were better than those of other series of composites.By preparing three kinds of foam nickel-iron with different pore sizes and the mass ratio of polyether sulfone were 0%,2%,4% and 6%,the low-velocity impact experiment was carried out,and the impact load-time curve was used to analyze the different pore sizes. And the effects of different mass ratios of polyether sulfone on the failure morphology, stiffness and energy absorption of composite panels. The research showed that the composite plates with a mass ratio of polyether sulfone of 0% and 2% had brittle fracture failure;the composite plate with a mass ratio of polyether sulfone of 4% had better toughness and a larger peak impact load, showing better performance of impact resistance.By preparing composite plates of PPI30 foam nickel-iron and polyether sulfone with a mass ratio of 4%,the impact response of the composite plate at different impact velocities was experimentally studied, and the relationship between the peak impact load, energy absorption damage state and damage of the composite plate with velocity were analyzed. The results showed that the composite exhibited plastic deformation at different impact velocities. With the increase of impact velocity, the action time of impact load increased first and then decreased, and the energy absorption ratio of composites decreased first and then increased. |
