This research originates from the particularity of the extension area of heritage city in urban renewal.In the context of the continuous progress of urbanization,some villages that are close to and Similar to the ancient city are facing the challenge of renovation and renewal.This thesis takes Wan Jiaying Village,an extension village of the Shiping Ancient City,as the starting point.To discuss the renewal design techniques of the extension village of ancient city in the new era of urban renewal and development,it uses the " Front stage and Back stage " Theory to analyse the problems which the extension village is existing.With the guidance of " Front stage and Back stage " Theory and the characteristics of the extending village,this thesis considers how to update and reform some historical relics and important nodes in the village,so as to inject new vitality while inheriting the traditional culture of the village.By taking Shiping Wanjiaying Shanjue Temple Street as the demonstration area,the architectural space is classified and integrated according to the characteristics of Wanjiaying Village,and the architectural environment along the street in the village is redesigned and constructed,so as to combine the functional positioning of the village with the development of the town.By discussing the design points of the ancient city extension villages under the Foreground-Curtain and Background Mode,this thesis provides effective induction and suggestions for the renewal and renovation strategies of the ancient city extension villages,and provides directions for the rural activation of urban-rural integration under the background of urban renewal.
