The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC National Congress and the 19 th CPC Central Committee pointed out that the child-friendly city is the demand of a better life in the new era and the criterion of high-quality urban development.Suzhou is committed to building a child-friendly city,looking at the city from the perspective of children.Universal Education is a window for children to perceive the society and know the city.However,due to the spatial structure and land use restrictions of the ancient city,the primary school students in the ancient city area all have insufficient land use,narrow roads in front of the gate,limited space for receiving and delivering,and insufficient parking space,because of the influence of individual factors,the traffic jam in front of the school often occurs,which threatens the safety of students and hinders the construction of the child-friendly city.Therefore,it is necessary to study and discuss the optimization strategy of traffic evacuation in front of primary schools in Suzhou ancient city.Research on combing the old primary school learning traffic related theory and literature,on the basis of combing inductive ancient city primary school in front of the basic information and road conditions,analysis summed up the ancient city primary school learning body,learning time and learning ways and the characteristics of the transport behavior,it is concluded that primary school in front of the general studies traffic problems and in the face of difficulties.In this paper,literature review,field investigation,comparative analysis and summary are used to analyze the factors affecting the traffic in front of primary schools in gucheng District.It is concluded that the unfair distribution of road rights and unreasonable division of road sections are the main factors causing the disorderly traffic in front of primary schools.The change of transport flow leads to uneven road flow,resulting in phased imbalance of road supply and demand;The lack of space excavation on campus and the lack of overall planning of off-campus space result in limited shuttle parking Spaces.Shuttle space is affected by land area,student size,shuttle space and other factors.The number of entrances and exits is limited by the land conditions of the school and the road conditions of the base.Based on the purpose of road safety,orderly and smooth in front of the gate,the study puts forward the optimization goal of school traffic in front of primary schools in ancient urban areas,and carries out strategic research on five aspects including right-of-way integration,traffic management,parking organization,space expansion and access organization.In the right of way integration,ensure the maximum efficiency of non-motor vehicles,widen the width of section,adjust the section form.In traffic management,set up special shuttle lane,one-way traffic,set up car-free zone and other methods,time separation of traffic,control traffic flow.In terms of parking organization,multiple utilization of space and effective allocation of land value are emphasized.Parking needs can be solved by relying on campus space,surrounding roads and nearby facilities.In the space expansion,using shuttle space to expand to the school,the school gate concave move back and other methods,in the access organization,add a number of entrances and exits,widen the width of the school gate,disperse the flow.
