| In order to enhance the development momentum of the Chengdu-Chongqing region, accelerate the interconnection of the central and western regions, and create the fourth level of new space for domestic economic growth,my country has repeatedly proposed the strategy of building an economic circle(city cluster)in the Chengdu-Chongqing region. And in October 2021,the "Outline of the Construction Plan for the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle " was formed.Among them, the focus will be on the modern infrastructure field to guide the comprehensive economic and transportation integration construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. As the first capital driving regional economic growth, transportation infrastructure has played an important supporting role in economic development for a long time.As the most important part of the transportation infrastructure, the land transportation network plays an irreplaceable role in the material circulation and element exchange of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle.In-depth exploration of the characteristics of land transportation network and economic distribution pattern in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle,to explore the radiation and ability of regional cities to receive radiation, and to study the mechanism of land transportation on economic growth, which is conducive to providing a reference for the government to formulate regional development policies, and then realize the coordinated and balanced development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. At the theoretical level, this paper collects relevant policy documents of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, and analyzes the positioning and planning of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. On this basis, the existing research results and related theories are sorted out,and the impact mechanism of land transportation infrastructure on economic growth is discussed.Research shows that the network and externalities of transportation infrastructure itself are the basis for the spillover effect of transportation infrastructure. This spillover effect will lead to spatial dependence of regional economies and accelerate the flow of factors among regions. The impact of transportation infrastructure on economic growth is composed of direct effects and spillover effects. The direct effect is the improvement of the accessibility of the region to drive economic growth, and the spillover effect is the effect of the transportation infrastructure in the neighboring regions on the region. The empirical level is divided into three parts.First, this paper first collects and constructs the land transportation network map of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle in 2005,2010,2015 and 2019,and conducts a descriptive analysis on it.On this basis, the accessibility analysis is carried out by using the spatial analysis function of Arc GIS platform. The average travel time is selected as the accessibility analysis method to explore the spatial pattern and evolution characteristics of accessibility in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. The second is to analyze the spatial pattern of economic growth in the ChengduChongqing Twin-City Economic Circle by using the Moran index and gravity model. The Moran index is used to verify the existence of spatial autocorrelation of economic growth in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City economic circle and analyze its spatial agglomeration characteristics; The accessibility variable is introduced into the gravitational model to analyze the strength of foreign economic ties in each region of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, and then to explore the interaction between the regions of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. The third is to introduce accessibility as a proxy indicator of land transportation network into an econometric model to explore its impact on economic growth. The specific conclusions are as follows:(1)The land transportation network in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City economic circle has the problems of low total volume, low road grade and unbalanced development in the early stage. However,a land transportation network system with Chengdu and the main urban areas of Chongqing as hubs,Chengdu-Chongqing Highspeed Railway,Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway and other highways and railway lines as axes, and other roads as branch lines has been developed, and the overall level has been greatly improved. In terms of accessibility,it is shown that the regional accessibility level increases rapidly, the overall accessibility level is high, and a circle structure with Chengdu and Chongqing as the dual core has been developed. However, there are still some areas such as Shizhu County,Yunyang County, etc.with low level of accessibility and lagging development.(2)In 2005,2010,2015 and 2019,the Moran index of GDP per capita in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle was 0.260,0.167,0.116 and 0.258,respectively,all of which passed the significance test and verified the existence of spatial autocorrelation. And show the form of high-high agglomeration,high-low agglomeration,low-high agglomeration and low-low agglomeration.Among them, there are many high and high agglomeration areas and low and low agglomeration areas. The high and high agglomeration areas are mainly concentrated in the urban area of Chongqing and its surrounding areas and Chengdu, while the low and low agglomeration areas are distributed in the central, northern and southern parts of the Idiom Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. The economic connection strength calculated based on the accessibility gravity model shows that the ChengduChongqing Twin-City Economic Circle has a significant differentiation of high and low levels. The strength of foreign economic ties in the regions represented by the main urban areas of Chengdu and Chongqing is significantly higher than that in the eastern counties represented by Shizhu County and Yunyang County.(3)Econometric models are used to analyze the impact of land transport on economic growth. And the results show that land transportation accessibility in the new economic geography theory, urbanization level in the economic growth theory, and educational investment and industrial structure significantly promote economic growth. The improvement of the land transportation network directly leads to the improvement of the level of accessibility, which drives the economic growth from the macro and micro levels.Macroscopically, with the improvement of the land transportation network, the flow of factors between regions has accelerated, and the travel cost has decreased. It strengthens the agglomeration and radiation of economic activities, and at the same time accelerates the spatial spillover effect of the ChengduChongqing Twin-City economic circle, thereby promoting the growth of the regional economy. At the micro level, the improvement of the land transportation network has improved the regional accessibility, reduced the travel cost of residents and the transportation cost of enterprises, promoted the integration and division of labor in the industry, and optimized the economic structure of the region. In turn,it will promote the flow of resources to Chengdu and Chongqing to form an economic center, and ultimately support regional economic growth. |
