With the slowdown in the construction industry’s growth rate and intensified competition,small and medium-sized construction enterprises are facing survival difficulties.Given the significant consumption of costs during the construction phase,strengthening project cost control is crucial for the development of construction companies.However,traditional cost control methods are no longer able to meet the current demands of construction enterprises,leading to an increasing industry demand for using Building Information Modeling(BIM)technology to control project costs.With the development of informatization,the application of BIM technology in construction cost control can effectively reduce project costs,minimize resource waste,and ensure a certain profit margin for awarded projects.In the fierce market competition,construction companies need to strengthen their cost management to achieve stable and sustainable development.This thesis focuses on the application of BIM technology in construction cost control,based on the current background.Firstly,by analyzing the content,principles,and challenges of construction cost control in conjunction with the characteristics of BIM technology,this study summarizes the process and methods of construction cost control,providing a theoretical foundation for the application research in this thesis.Secondly,the influencing factors of construction cost control based on BIM technology are organized using the literature review method,and further adjusted through a questionnaire survey,resulting in the construction of an evaluation index system for construction cost control based on BIM technology.Subsequently,the weights of each evaluation index are determined using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),and a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model for assessing the effectiveness of BIM technology in construction cost control is established.Then,by applying BIM technology in the construction phase of a main building project for clash detection,construction simulation,and 3D layout,as well as utilizing the BIM 5D platform for quantity extraction,schedule control,and material control,comprehensive construction cost control is achieved.Finally,the effectiveness of the application is evaluated using the constructed evaluation model through fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.The evaluation results demonstrate the significant role of BIM technology in construction cost control.Based on the practical situation,this thesis provides optimization recommendations on how construction companies can better apply BIM technology for cost control.
